Capital One Quicksilver Card
The Quicksilver Card is one of Capital One's most popular credit cards. It's basic cash back earning structure also makes it one of the best Capital One credit cards in the terms of overall return. It's also a great card for international travel since it has no foreign transaction fee. Read on below to learn more about the Capital One Quicksilver Card including details on the earning structure, card perks and benefits, signup bonus, and any associated fees.
The Capital One Quicksilver Card does not have any bonus categories. Instead, the Quicksilver earns cash back at a flat rate for all purchases. There is no limit to the amount of cash back you can earn with the Quicksilver Card and cash back earned with it will not expire as long as you have a Capital One cash back credit card tied to your account. Rewards are for the life of the account. There is also no minimum amount of cash back that you must redeem. You can redeem any amount of cash back earned on the Quicksilver.
1.5% All Purchases
The Capital One Quicksilver Card offers a flat rate of 1.5% cash back per $1 spent on all purchases. This means for every $1 you spent, you'll earn $0.015 (cent and a half). This is a solid rate for most cash back cards with no annual fee. There are tons of cards with this same structure such as the Chase Freedom Unlimited and the AMEX Cash Magnet Card. If you're going to pick up a 1.5% cash back card, I'd recommend picking it up with whomever you're doing your banking with or earning rewards with.
Perks and Benefits
Visa Signature Benefits
The Capital One Quicksilver Card does not have any special perks, but it is part of the Visa Signature network. This offers shopping discounts, travel upgrades and savings, complimentary concierge service, auto rental collision damage waiver, extended warranty coverage, emergency card replacement and more! Do note that approved credit lines of $5,000 or greater will receive a Visa Signature Card. If approved for a credit line less than $5,000, you will receive a Visa Platinum Card.

Credit Card Fees
|Authorized User Fee|
|Foreign Transaction Fee|
There is no annual fee for the Capital One Quicksilver Card meaning you will always earn a flat rate of 1.5% for all purchases.
Authorized User Fee
The Capital One Quicksilver Card has a $0 authorized user fee. If you're looking to maximize cash back, I recommend adding friends and family to the card to help build your rewards!
Foreign Transaction Fee
One of the best qualities of the Capital One Quicksilver Card is that it has a 0$ foreign transaction fee. This allows you to make purchases outside of the United States without being penalized a fee for international transactions. On top of that, Capital One Cards consist of Visa's and Mastercard's which are more widely accepted over AMEX and Discover. Most reward cards are starting to get rid of their foreign transaction fees, but there are still a few out there that charge as high as 3% per $1 spent. While that may not seem like a lot, most cards offer returns of 3% or lower so you're looking at a devaluation of your own rewards when you make foreign purchases with these fees. If you frequently make international purchases, be sure to pick up a good such as the Quicksilver to avoid those pesky foreign transaction fees!
