Calculate the transfer of rewards to and from your Choice Privileges account. List of Choice transfer partners and details on each. Compare top programs.

Choice Privileges Points can be transferred to more than 10 different airline partners and Amtrak Guest Rewards. You can also transfer rewards to your Choice Privileges account using AMEX, Amtrak, and Diners Club.

Choice Transfer Partners

Choice Privileges Points can be transfered to a 10 airlines and Amtrak Guest Rewards. This allows you to top off your favorite loyalty program if you're a few points or miles short as well as provides additional ways for you to accumulate extra miles and points at a sometimes better rate.

Choice Points Transfer Calculator

The Choice Points Transfer Calculator will calculate the transfer of Choice Privileges Points to Choice's airline partners and Amtrak. You can enter any amount of Choice Points below to see how many airline miles you will end up with when transferred.

Choice Hotels SkyTeam Alliance Partners

Choice Privileges Points can be transferred to two SkyTeam partners. Those partners are:

  • Aeromexico Airlines
  • Czech Air

Aeromexico is a direct transfer partner of many programs including American Express Membership Rewards and Capital One Rewards.

Choice Privileges and Radisson Rewards are the only two programs that transfer to Czech Air. If you're looking to top off your OK Plus Miles, Choice is a good way to do so.

Choice Hotels oneworld Alliance Partners

Choice Privileges features two oneworld alliance airlines. Those airlines are:

  • American Airlines
  • Qantas

American Airlines AAdvantage does not feature any of the major bank rewards programs as transfer partners which makes them a little harder to earn than other major U.S. airlines. Being able to transfer your Choice Points to American Airlines can be useful if you're looking for away to add to your AAdvantage Miles balance.

The Qantas Frequent Flyer Program features several major 1:1 transfer partners including Citi ThankYou Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards and Capital One Rewards. Those looking to earn Qantas Points by the dozens will want to consider those programs, but if you're looking to top off your Qantas Points, transferring your Choice Privileges Points can be a solid option.

Choice Hotels Star Alliance Partners

Choice Privileges Points can be transferred to 3 Star alliance airlines. Those airlines are:

  • Air Canada
  • Air New Zealand
  • United Airlines

Air Canada Aeroplan Miles can be earned using several major programs including American Express Membership Rewards and Capital One Rewards.

Air New Zealand is not a transfer partner of any of the major bank rewards programs, but there are several hotel programs that allow you to Air New Zealand Airpoints. The transfer ratio of Choice Privileges Points (as well as other hotel programs) to Airpoints is quite extreme. I don't recommend taking this route unless you have a really solid redemption line up as 20,000 Choice Points has an average cash value of about $120 and is worth at least 2 free nights minimally at a Choice brand hotel.

Other Choice Transfer Partners

Choice Privileges Points can be transferred to several airlines that are not part of any major alliances. Listed below are two of the programs worth mentioning.

Alaska Airlines

Alaska MileagePlan Miles are very valuable, but can be hard to earn due to having transfer partners that are all hotel loyalty programs. If you're in need of earning some Alaska Miles, Choice is a solid option.

Amtrak Guest Rewards

Choice Hotels partner with Amtrak to bring you new ways to earn Amtrak Guest Rewards. With Choice's 'Your Extras' program, you can earn Choice Points and 100 Amtrak Guest Rewards on qualifying stays. You can also opt to receive 250 Amtrak Guest Rewards on stays and forfeit the Choice Points altogether. You can set this up under your Choice online profile. Be sure to choose your 'Amtrak Guest Rewards' account when you choose "Airline Miles" under "Your Extras Preferences".

Compare Choice Transfer Partners

The tables below compares Choice Hotel's transfer partners side by side against several other top programs that also allows point transfers.

Choice vs Marriott Transfer Partners

Marriott Bonvoy Points can be transferred to over 40 airline partners. Choice features only four partners in which Marriott does not transfer to. Those partners are:

  • Amtrak Guest Rewards
  • Czech Air
  • Spirit Airlines
  • Virgin Australia

Marriott Bonvoy Members can earn between 10 and 23.5 points per $1 spent at Marriott brand hotels when you factor in Marriott Bonvoy Status and Marriott credit cards. When transferred at a 3:1 ratio, this is equivalent to earning 3.3 to 7.83 airline miles per $1 spent.

Choice Privileges Members can earn between 10 and 20 points per $1 spent at Choice brand hotels between Choice Elite Status and the Barclays Choice Privileges credit card. Choice features several transfer ratios, but they most common ratio is 5:1. At a 5:1 ratio, you're looking at an earning of 2 to 4 points/miles per $1 spent. This is on the lower side when compared to Marriott.

Choice vs Wyndham Transfer Partners

Wyndham Rewards Points can be transferred to 14 rewards programs at the same 5:1 ratio that Choice Points can be transferred to most of their partners. Wyndham and Choice only shares five transfer partners. Those programs are:

  • American Airlines
  • Aeromexico Airlines
  • Aeroplan (Air Canada)
  • Amtrak Guest Rewards
  • United Airlines

Wyndham Rewards members earn 10 points per $1 spent at Wyndham brand hotels with the ability to earn an additional 5 points using the Wyndham Rewards Card (Platinum) for a total of 15 points. At a 5:1 transfer ratio, this is equal to earning 2 to 3 miles/points per $1 spent at Wyndham.

Choice Privileges members can earn between 2 to 4 points/miles per $1 spent so both programs are competitive when it comes to transferring points, with Choice having a slight advantage over Wyndham.

Choice vs AMEX Transfer Partners

American Express Membership Rewards Points transfers to 22 partners. Of those 22 partners, Choice Privileges is one of them. Membership Rewards can be transferred to Choice at a 1:1 ratio which means Membership Rewards Points can be transferred to all of Choice's transfer partners. Since Choice Points transfer at a 5:1 ratio, you will not find much value in transferring the equivalence of 5 Membership Rewards Points for a single point/mile in a rewards program.

The Transfer Points To Choice Calculator will calculate the transfer of points to your Choice Privileges account from transfer partners. Enter any amount of Choice Points to see how many rewards points/miles you would need to transfer from the partner programs to equal the amount you specified.

Membership Rewards

When it comes to building up your Choice points, your best bet will be the AMEX Membership Rewards program. AMEX offers 10 different credit cards that you can use to build your points which includes cards that feature bonus categories like grocery, airfare, gas, and dining. On top of that, transfers are 1:1 meaning you can transfer 1 Membership Reward Point for 1 Choice Point.

How To Transfer AMEX Points To Choice

Transferring your AMEX Membership Rewards Points to your Choice Privileges account is pretty easy to do. Do note that if you haven't linked your Choice Privileges account to your Membership Rewards account, you will need to have your Choice Privileges account number and at least one of your American Express credit cards handy.

You can transfer AMEX Membership Rewards to Choice Privileges Points with the following steps:

  1. Go to, select 'Membership Rewards' from the drop down and log in to your account.

Amtrak Guest Rewards

Amtrak Guest Rewards is solid rewards program for topping off your Choice Privileges account. Amtrak Points transfer to Choice at a nice 3:1 ratio giving you 3 Choice Points for every Amtrak point transferred. This allows you to earn a significant amount of points if you're traveling on Amtrak or using their Amtrak World Elite Mastercard to earn big on Amtrak ticket purchases and general travel spend.

  3. Click 'Redeem' (You may need to sign into your Amtrak Guest Rewards).
  4. Select how many 5,000-point blocks of Amtrak Points you want to transfer to your Choice Privileges account.
  5. Review the transaction and confirm the transfer.

Earning With Partner Credit Cards

Choice Privileges Points can be earned using transfer partner credit cards. What's great about this is that you can easily earn tens of thousands of Choice Privileges Points using sign up bonuses on these partner credit cards. Just be sure to note that Choice Points are worth 0.6 cents each on average whereas AMEX Membership Rewards are worth 1 cent or more and Amtrak Guest Rewards are worth 2 cents or more. So it's possible to lose overall value when transferring.

The list of credit cards in the table below either earns Choice Privileges Points directly or earns points with a program that allows you to transfer points to the Choice Privileges Program. The earning rates for transfer partner credit cards are based on the transfer ratio when converting rewards to Choice Privileges Points. You can click on a card's Rewards Calculator to learn more as well as calculate how many points you can earn based on your spend.

The card section above may be scrollable.

Want to know which card will earn you the most Choice Privileges Points? You can use the Best Credit Cards For Choice Points Calculator to get a list of the best based on how much you spend across different categories!

Transferring Choice Privileges Points can be useful for those looking to top off their favorite rewards account thanks to the decent 5:1 ratio, but Choice Privileges Points with the sole purpose of transferring them will not get you many miles.

If you're in need of Choice Privileges Points, both the AMEX Membership Rewards Program and Amtrak Guest Rewards Program can be useful for earning lots of points. Just make sure to note that AMEX Points and Amtrak Points can be redeemed for high value whereas Choice Points tend to hover around 0.6 in value.

Outside of transferring points directly to Choice, there are still a good deal of options to build your points. This includes booking stays at Choice hotels, spending with their travel partners, using the Barclay's Choice Privileges credit card, and buying Choice Points.
