At Home Mastercard

Card Review & Rewards Point Calculator
5x At Home
3x Grocery
Special Financing

Review the benefits of the At Home Mastercard, calculate how many At Home Rewards Points you can earn based on spend, and compare against top cards.

The At Home Mastercard is a great choice if you frequently spend money at any At Home store. The card offers a great return on your At Home spend, a solid return on grocery, and grants access to 6-month special financing on larger purchases. It's hard to find a card that offers a steady, high return in the home decor department so this can be a very useful card to have.

Bonus Categories

The At Home Mastercard features two bonus categories which are At Home and grocery purchases. There's no limit to the amount of bonus points you can earn spending in either bonus category and no limit to the amount of points you can earn with the card overall.

5x At Home

The At Home Mastercard earns 5 At Home Rewards Points per $1 spent at any At Home store. With At Home Rewards Points being worth 1 cent each, this is equal to a 5% return which is pretty great for a home decor store. This type of return will be hard to match as home decor isn't a frequently seen bonus category. That's why the At Home Mastercard will be the best option if you typically shop at their stores.

3x Grocery

When you use the At Home Mastercard at grocery stores, you will earn 3 At Home Rewards Points per $1 spent. Grocery will be places like Publix, Winn-Dixie, Kroger, Meijer, Vons, and Giant Eagle. Warehouse clubs and superstores like Target, Walmart, and Sam's Club do not qualify as grocery stores.

Grocery purchases will be equal to earning a 3% return. This is about the average for a card that has no annual fee. If you don't mind your rewards being strictly tied to At Home, then this isn't a bad category to use your At Home Mastercard on. If you're looking for a little bit more freedom in terms of redeeming rewards, you can earn the same 3% return with the no-annual fee AMEX Blue Cash Everyday.

1x Non-Category

All other purchases made on the At Home Mastercard will earn you 1 At Home Rewards Point per $1 spent. This is a low return of 1% which is bad. I don't recommend running non-category spend on this card. You would be better off picking up a 2% cash back credit card which would earn you rewards twice as fast that you can redeem towards At Home or anywhere else you want to.

Perks and Benefits

The At Home Mastercard only grants one benefit which is special financing on At Home purchases.

Special Financing

The At Home Mastercard grants access to At Home's special financing. Purchases of $299 or more qualify for no interest if paid in full within 6 months. This can be very useful if you plan on financing a bigger purchase that you would like to space out.

Do note that minimum payments will not pay off your entire balance in 6-months. You will need to take the cost of your purchase and divide by 6 in order to see what you should be paying per month. Make sure that the last payment (6th payment) zeros out the balance otherwise you'll pay interest on the full cost from the date of purchase. Special financing is something you'll want to take very carefully and plan out properly.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard sign up bonus for the At Home Mastercard is 10% off your first purchase when you open your account. Since you're automatically signed up for the Insider Perks program, this is the same 10% discount. Make sure you have a nice sized purchase lined up before applying so that you can get some good value out of the discount.

Credit Card Fees

Annual Fee
Authorized User Fee
Foreign Transaction Fee

Annual Fee

The At Home Mastercard does not have an annual fee. This means you'll always earn a positive return when running spend through the card. Be sure to pay your balance in full every month otherwise the interest will eat away at your hard earned rewards and you'll feel like you're paying an annual fee with the high rates this card has.

Authorized User Fee

There is no fee to add additional users to the At Home Mastercard. If you have family or friends that love shopping in At Home stores, adding them will help you build points and thus get you to your At Home reward certificates faster.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The At Home Mastercard has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. This means that you will be penalized every time you use this card outside of the United States. Since all At Home's are located within the United States, there's no reason to use this card for international spending or travel.
