Best Western Rewards Points are primarily earned booking stays at Best Western and spending with their partners.
Earning Best Western Points On Stays
Staying at Best Western hotels will be the easiest way to build your Best Western Rewards Points if you're based in Australia. You can earn up to 10 base points per US$1 spent and up to an additional 50% on top of that based on your elite status with Best Western. When earning points in non-U.S. Dollars, it will be converted to such before calculating total points.
Best Western Base Points
Best Western members earn 10 points per $1 spent on the base price of the hotel. This will be the cost before taxes and fees are added. So if you stay at a Best Western hotel and the cost is US$225 before taxes, you would earn a total of 2,250 points for the stay. This is calculate by multiplying the base hotel cost by the base earning rate of 10 points per US$1 spent ($225 x 10).
Best Western Elite Status Points
Best Western has five tiers in their rewards programs. Earning elite status with their program is based on the number of nights, stays, or base points you earn in a calendar year. Best Western elite status comes with many benefits, but for this we will be looking specifically at the bonus points you will earn based on your tier in the program.

Cash Back Portals
Want to earn additional cash back on top of your Best Western Rewards Points? Of course you do! Cash back portals allow you to double and triple dip on rewards and is the best way to maximize your earnings when shopping online. All cash back portals pretty much work the same.
- Start at the cash back portal's website
- Find your store and click Shop to start a new session
- You'll be dropped off on that store's home page to shop as normal
- Once you checkout, the cash back site will be notified
- Cash back will be credited to your account
Since cash back portals drop you off on the retailers site, it will still be considered booking direct. So if you were to book a hotel through a portal you would earn:
- Rewards from the cash back portal.
- Rewards from the credit card you're using (if it offers rewards).
- Best Western Rewards Points from the stay.
If you're looking for the best earnings when shopping specifically in Australia and surrounding regions, your best bet is going to be Cashrewards and ShopBack. The other listed programs are focused more on U.S., U.K., and Canada based stores. If you plan on mostly using cash back portals for travel, it will not matter which program you use since hotels, airlines, and other forms of travel are usually worldwide. For example, Best Western brand hotels are worldwide, so if Topcashback is offering a promotional 5% back on Best Western bookings and CashRewards/ShopBack is only offering 3%, I would recommend booking through TopCashback.
