American Airlines Award Flights

On average, redeeming American Airline AAdvantage Miles will give you a value of USD 1.4 cents per mile which is pretty good. This is in-line with both Southwest Rapid Rewards Points and United MileagePlus Miles. AAdvantage Miles can be worth more (or less) depending on the redemption with first/business class flights usually giving you the best return due to the cost of these fares. Redeem For Seat Upgrades

AAdvantage Miles can be used to upgrade your seat on flights marketed and operated by American Airlines. These upgrade can be for yourself or anyone you designate. Upgrades are valid to the next cabin of service and for a single one-way trip with a maximum of three segments. Do note that award tickets and Basic Economy fare tickets cannot be upgraded. The value of AAdvantage Miles for upgrades will vary depending on the flight and other factors. Upgrades within the contiguous 48 states will cost you between 5,000 and 15,000 AAdvantage Miles while some of the bigger upgrades cost up to 25,000 AAdvantage Miles plus USD $550.

Redeem For Admiral Club Membership

AAdvantage Miles can be used to pay for an Admiral Club Membership. These rates are based on your AAdvantage Status when the membership is purchased, whether or not it's a new membership or a renewal, and if it's an individual membership or one for the whole household. AAdvantage Executive Platinum members will get the best value at about USD 0.8 cents per AAdvantage Mile, while basic members will only receive around USD 0.64 cents per mile. As for cash cost, new individual memberships cost between USD $450 for Executive Platinum members up to USD $550 for basic members while new household memberships cost between USD $675 for Executive Platinum members up to USD $925 for basic members. Redeem For Car Rentals

AAdvantage Miles can be used to book rental cars for a value of around USD 0.6 cents per mile. You're able to choose from all of the top rental car agencies such as:

Redeem For Free Hotel Stays

AAdvantage Miles can be used to book hotels. This will give your AAdvantage Miles a value of about USD 0.64 cents per mile. Hotels can cost where between 10,000 and 300,000 AAdvantage Miles per night. It all depends on the brand of the hotel, if it's economical or luxury, and the location. Redeem For Gift Cards

AAdvantage Miles can be redeemed through Points.com for over 50 different types of gift cards that the rate of 6,412 Miles for a USD $25 gift card. This is a rate of about USD 0.38 cents per point which is the lowest of these redemptions. Points.com can be used to keep track of all of your reward programs in one place, transfer points and miles between different programs, and redeem miles/points for gift cards. While the redemption for gift cards may not be that good, the site is still useful when it comes to moving or using reward points that risk expiring. AAdvantage Miles can be redeemed for magazines and newspapers. The value of your AAdvantage Mile for this redemption will vary, but it will usually be on the high side considering these redemptions don't have a very high cash value. Other Redemptions
