The Platinum Card (Canada) offers a solid return across multiple categories, but the card really shines for those that travel. It offers annual travel credits, access to thousands of lounges, elite status with several hotel brands, and much more. It's a card you will want to consider if you're looking for superb travel benefits.
The Platinum Card (Canada) features two bonus categories which are dining and travel. There is no cap on these bonus categories and their is no limit to the amount of Membership Rewards Points you can earn spending on the card in general.
The Platinum Card (Canada) earns 3 Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent on dining purchases. This includes restaurants, fast food, cafés, bars, and anything else labeled as dining in Canada.
The Platinum Card (Canada) earns 2 Membership Rewards Points per $1 spent on travel purchases in Canada. This includes airfare, hotel, cruises, rail and road transportation, and lodging and tour operator sales. Do note that this categories does not include local and commuter transportation.
All purchases on the Platinum Card outside of dining and travel will earn 1 Membership Reward Point per $1 spent.

CAD$ 200 Travel Credit
Platinum Cardholders will receive a CAD$200 annual travel credit good towards any single travel booking of $200 or more charged to the Platinum Card through the American Express Travel Portal or through Platinum Card Services.

AMEX Platinum Cardholders will have access to the Fine Hotels & Resorts collection. Cardholders will receive 4pm late checkout, complimentary daily breakfast for two, and more.
Hilton Honors Gold Status
Complimentary Hilton Honors Gold will be given to AMEX Platinum Cardholders. Hilton Gold comes with benefits such as 80% bonus points, complimentary breakfast, and room upgrades.
Shangri-La Golden Circle Jade Membership
Complimentary Golden Circle Jade Membership will be given to AMEX Platinum Cardholders. Jade Membership comes with priority check-in and check-out, room upgrades, early check-in / late check-out, and bonus Golden Circle points.
Marriott Bonvoy Gold Status
Platinum Cardholders will receive complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status. Marriott Gold offers perks like late check-out, welcome gifts, bonus points, and room upgrades.
Radisson Rewards Gold Status
Platinum Cardholders will be given complimentary Radisson Rewards Gold Status. When staying at Radisson Hotels, this offers 25x Radisson Points per $1 spent, a 15% food and drink discount, a welcome gift, and access to their 72-hour guarantee on bookings made through the exclusive Elite Member Services Line.
Toronto Airport Benefits
Platinum Cardholders will be given access to Pearson Priority Security Lane during peak operating times, complimentary valet service at the Express Park and Daily Park, and a 15% discount on parking rates at the Express Park and Daily Park.
Platinum Cardholders will have access to the AMEX Platinum Concierge. The Concierge provides personal assistance day and night, whenever and wherever you are. They can help recommend restaurants, get tickets to exclusive events, and a lot more.
AMEX Invites offers several benefits when it comes to the world of entertainment. This includes Front Of The Line Advanced Access and Reserved Tickets, special offers and experiences for cardmembers, and more. It's a great way to obtain tickets to great, exclusive events.
No Preset Spending Limit
The AMEX Platinum Card (Canada) is a charge card that has no pre-set spending limit (NPSL). This does not mean infinite spending, but it does allow flexibility. As you use the card, the amount you can spend on it will adjust. Do note that charge cards require the full balance to be paid every month.

The standard sign up bonus for the AMEX Platinum Card is 50,000 Membership Rewards Point after spending $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months of Cardmembership. This is worth an easy $500 but can be worth more when transferred to airline partners.

The annual fee for the AMEX Platinum Card (Canada) is CAD $699. With all the benefits offered, this can easily be worth the fee if you take advantage of the annual travel credit and the lounge access.
Authorized User Fee
The authorized user fee to add additional Platinum Cards will cost you CAD $175 each. Cardholders can also add additional Gold Cards for CAD $50 each. If you have friends and family that travel just as much as you, adding them as users can help build points faster and save money on lounge fees.
Foreign Transaction Fee
Foreign purchases made on the AMEX Platinum Card will cost 2.5% per charge. This is on top of the conversion rate based on interbank rates selected from customary industry sources.
