How we work out the cost of transferring to IHG Points

Every route on this page ends in the same place, so what separates them isn't what you receive — it's what you give up. The cost figures are each source program's own baseline value multiplied by the amount you'd need to send, which is why a 1:1 ratio out of a cheap program regularly beats 1:1 out of an expensive one.

All 2 programs that transfer into IHG Points have published redemption values, so every row above carries a figure. 2 use redemptions we have confirmed as that program's main use; the others are based on the strongest redemption we track for them.

Transfer bonuses are excluded from the published IHG Points values. A promotion that runs for a few weeks shouldn't move a figure people rely on year-round, so bonuses apply in the calculator and not in the values behind it.

IHG Points transfer at 2 different rates across 2 partners, so these figures are reviewed whenever a ratio moves or a partner changes its award chart. For how we arrive at a program's redemption values in the first place, see our valuation methodology.
