Calculate total AAdvantage Miles based on your monthly/yearly spend across the Aviator Red Card and get a rundown of the benefits offered.

The Aviator Red Card is an American Airlines AAdvantage Miles earning card offered by Barclays. Running spend through this card will earn you additional AAdvantage Miles on American Airlines purchases as well as provide several perks when flying their airline such as a free checked bag and in-flight savings.

Bonus Categories

The Aviator Red Card features American Airlines as it's only bonus category. You'll earn at the following rates with the Aviator Red:

  • 2x American Airlines
    • aa.com, AA reservations, AA vacation reservations, airport/city ticket counters
  • 1x Non-Category

If you're looking for a card strickly to use on American Airlines purchases, this is the one. Since all AAdvantage credit cards earn 1x on non-category purchases and AA doesn't really have any strong transfer partners, running non-category spend though this card could be worth it if you're going "all-in" for AAdvantage Miles.

You can earn across more categories with the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select which earns 2x on AA, restaurants, and gas station purchases. Both cards have different perks and benefits, so you'll want to be sure to note that.

Perks & Benefits

The Aviator Red Card offers a great amount of perks including a free checked bag for you and companions, an annual companion certificate, preferred boarding, and more.

  • First Checked Bag Free
    • Cardholder plus up to 4 companions on the same reservation.
  • Annual Companion Certificate
    • $99 Companion Certificate earned only after spending $20,000+ during the year.
    • Good for 1 round-trip qualifying domestic economy fare ticket.
  • Preferred Boarding
    • Cardholder plus up to 4 companions on the same reservation.
  • Annual In-Flight Wi-Fi Credits
    • $25 back as statement credit for Wi-Fi purchases on AA operated flights.
  • 25% Off In-Flight Purchases

Sign Up Bonus (SUB)

The value of these miles will range depending on the destination, time of day, and time of year amongst other things. You should be able to get at least $600 in value out of that bonus. You can check out the American Airlines Award Chart on there website to see how far those miles can get you as far as flights.
