If you're looking to earn lots Avios on everyday purchases, American Express Membership Rewards is at the top of the list. You'll be able to earn the equivalent of 2-5 Avios per $1 spent across categories such as airfare, grocery, restaurant/dining, and gas stations. To make matters better, Membership Rewards Points also transfers to Aer Lingus AerClub Avios and Iberia Plus Avios so you can transfer to the Avios loyalty program that works for you!

Another solid choice for earning Avios is Chase Ultimate Rewards. Chase offers three Ultimate Rewards credit cards and allows you to earn points using their cash back cards if you have at least one Ultimate Rewards credit card. This opens up a total of seven credit cards you can use to earn 2-5 Avios per $1 spent across categories such as travel, restaurant/dining, phone services, and office supply stores. Chase also partners with Lyft which can earn you 5x or 10x Avios per $1 spent depending on your card.

Lastly, the HSBC Rewards program offers a few cards that can be useful if you spend a good amount of travel per year. You can earn 2x-3x on travel and transfer your earned points to Aer Lingus AerClub Avios and Iberia Plus Avios as well.
