The value of Qantas Points can range from as low as 0.5 cents to as high as 1.4 cents depending on how you redeem them. The sweet spot for redeeming these points will be for economy flights since Qantas has a distance based rewards chart. This page will cover all the ways Qantas Points can be redeemed. This page primarily focuses on redemptions that are for U.S.-based members. You can jump to Qantas Points Calculators AU if you're based in Australia.
Qantas Points Value Calculator
Use the Qantas Points Value Calculator to calculate the cash value of Qantas Points based on the average value for each redemption option. Average values (denoted by '~') are based on how much The Point Calculator values that redemption after some research and number crunching. You can put any value in the field below.
Flying Qantas and Oneworld Partners
Redeeming your Qantas Points for award flights on Qantas and Oneworld Partners will give you the best bang for your point which is around 1.4 cents. The key to booking these flights is to be aware of the distance between the cities you're flying in-between. Qantas has their own Qantas Points Calculator to help you calculate the distance and cost between two cities. Just remember that you will still have to pay taxes, fees, and carrier charges. Watch out for airlines that have high surcharges like British Airways! You can get the full break down on the Qantas Website.
Qantas Classic Flight Award Chart
This chart is the Qantas Classic Flight Award Chart for booking on the airlines listed above. This chart offers great deals on great airlines such as American Airlines, Emirates, and of course Qantas. For example, you can book flights from the East Coast (such as NYC) to Western Europe on American Airlines for only 22,500 Qantas Points one-way or 44,500 round-trip. You can also get great deals with small hops on flights less than 600 miles like trips between cities in Australia or jumping down to the Caribbean from places like Miami. Want to visit the Fiji Islands? Their flag carrier is also part of the chart which can get you from LAX to Nadi for 70,000 Qantas Points round-trip.

Qantas Club Membership
Qantas Points can be used to join or renew Qantas Club Membership. New members will have to pay a once-off join fee which will cost AU$369 for those outside of Australia/New Zealand. Members can also pay 70,000 Qantas Points (all countries/territories) to take care of the fee as well which gives your Qantas Points a value of 0.3 cents (USD) per point. After paying that fee, you will have to pay the actual Qantas Club Membership Fee. For those in the United States, one year will cost you 78,000 Qantas Points or AU$410, two years will cost 155,000 points or AU$740, and 4 years will cost 285,000 points or AU$1,400. This gives your points an average value of 0.35 cents (USD).
Qantas Frequent Flyer members can use their Qantas Points to book hotels and Airbnb through their Qantas Hotels portal. It's the same portal that you use to earn Qantas Points. When searching for hotels, the results will show you how many Qantas Points you can earn and how many Qantas Points the hotel costs. This gives your points a value of around 0.49 cents per point which is a very low value.
Qantas Frequent Flyer members can use their Qantas Point to book rental cars with Avis and Budget through the Qantas Car Rental/Hire portal. This is the same portal that allows you to book your car rental and earn Qantas Points. You can also earn bonus Qantas Points or free days booking deals through the Qantas Car Special Deals site.
