Flying Qatar and partners

The most straightforward way to earn Qatar Avios is by flying Qatar and their partners. If you're logged into your Qatar Privilege Club account, you'll earn Avios when booking flights through qatarairways.com.

Qatar Avios can also be earned booking travel with the following oneworld alliance partners:

Using transfer partner credit cards

Qatar Airways doesn't offer a co-branded credit cards for U.S.-based members, but you can still earn Qatar Avios using credit cards offered by the following transfer partners:

Citi ThankYou Rewards credit cards

Citi ThankYou Points can be transferred to Qatar Privilege Club at a 1:1 ratio. This means that every 1,000 points you transfer to Qatar will give you 1,000 Qatar Avios.

There are two credit cards that allow you to transfer Citi ThankYou points to partners:

• Citi Premier® Card
• Citi Prestige® Card (currently unavailable)

If you have one of the above cards, you can then pair them with other ThankYou Rewards credit cards and transfer those points to Qatar as well!

Marriott Bonvoy credit cards

Marriott Bonvoy points can be transferred to Qatar Privilege Club at a 3:1 ratio meaning that every 3,000 points you transfer will give you 1,000 Qatar Avios.

In addition to that, Marriott will give you a 5,000 Avios bonus for every 60,000-block of points you transfer in a single transaction. So a 60,000-Marriott point transfer would give you a total of 25,000 Qatar Avios.

Marriott has a total of four available credit cards between Chase and American Express that you can use to build points.

British Airways Executive Club credit cards

Avios earned with British Airways Executive Club can be transferred to Qatar Avios at a 1:1 ratio and vice-versa. The ability to move Avios between both of these programs freely opens up the doors for many additional transfer partners to Qatar.

British Airways only has one co-branded credit card. It will not earn you much spending with Qatar, but it does have a 100,000 Avios intro bonus which is what the card is most known for.

Iberia Plus credit cards

Iberia Plus is another Avios-earning program that allows you to move Avios back and forth between it's program and British Airways Executive Club. Since you can transfer Iberia Avios to British Airways and then transfer those to Qatar, this makes Iberia a transfer partner.

Iberia offers one co-branded credit card and like the British Airways credit card, it offers a 100,000 Avios intro bonus which can net you a significant amount of Qatar Avios.

American Express Membership Rewards credit cards

American Express Membership Rewards is a 1:1 transfer partner of British Airways which means it is also a 1:1 transfer partner of Qatar Airways. This gives you the ability to earn a significant amount of Qatar Avios due to AMEX's high intro bonuses and category multipliers.

Buying Qatar Avios

If you're a few Avios short of a redemption, you can buy Avios in blocks of 1,000 starting from 35 USD. The more Avios you buy in a single transaction, the less you pay per Avios.

You can buy up to 250,000 Avios per year, but you must have earned a minimum of 1,000 Avios from your date of enrollment before you can purchase additional Avios.
