Citi Rewards+ Card Calculator

Review the benefits of the Citi Rewards Plus Card and calculate how many ThankYou Points you can earn based on your spend. Compare results to top cards.
Updated 2020-06-18 By Robert Flowers III

The Citi Rewards+ Card is the newest card to join the ThankYou Rewards program and replaces the Citi Preferred Card which is now unavailable. The Rewards+ Card earns a decent amount of points on both grocery and gas station purchases, but what stands out about the card is that points round up to the nearest 10 points and that you can get 10% Points Back for the first 100,000 ThankYou® Points you redeem per year. It has no annual fee meaning it will pair well with the Premier and/or Prestige cards.

Bonus Categories

The Citi Rewards+ Card features two bonus categories which are supermarket and gas station purchases. There is a limit of $6,000 per year in combined spend between gas station and grocery purchases. After you hit that limit, you will earn ThankYou Points at the non-category rate for both categories. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn with the Citi Rewards+ Card in general.

  • 2x Supermarket
    • $6,000 spend cap between this and gas station spend; Earns 1x after cap is hit.
  • 2x Gas Station
    • $6,000 spend cap between this and supermarket spend; Earns 1x after cap is hit.
  • 1x Non-Category

With the Citi Double Cash being able to earn an unlimited 2x ThankYou Points on all purchases, these bonus categories don't mean too much. This card is about the Point Round Up and Point Rebate benefits, not the base earning rates of the card itself.

Perks & Benefits

The Citi Rewards+ Card features two benefits that stand out. The Rewards+ rounds all purchases up to the nearest 10 points and it offers a 10% rebate on redeemed ThankYou Points.

  • Point Round Up
    • Purchases made on the card will be rounded up to the nearest 10.
    • Includes gas station and grocery purchases.
    • Example: You purchase a $0.99 coffee, you'll earn 10 points instead of 1 point due to rounding up to the next tenth.
  • 10% Point Rebate
    • Redeeming points will earn you 10% of your points back.
    • Limited to the first 100,000 points redeemed per year.
    • Example: You redeem 20,000 points towards travel, you will get 2,000 of those points back.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard sign up bonus for Rewards+ Card is 15,000 ThankYou Points after spending $1,000 within the first 3 months of having the card. This is a value of at least $150 but can be worth more with the 10% rebate and even more if you have the Premier or Prestige Card which allows you to transfer your earned ThankYou Points to airline partners.

Annual Fee

The Citi Rewards+ Card does not have an annual fee. This allows you to easily pair this card with other ThankYou Point earning cards to maximize the amount of points you can earn as well as save with the Points Rebate benefit.

Authorized User Fee

There is no authorized user fee for the Citi Rewards+ Card. I recommend adding friends and family to the card in order to maximize the amount of points you can earn running spend through the card.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Citi Rewards+ Card has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. That makes this card a bad choice for international travel and spend. If you're looking to earn ThankYou Points internationally, you'll want to consider using the Citi Prestige or Citi Premier cards.

Note: The Citi Rewards+ Calculator does not factor in the rounding of points to the nearest 10 since each transaction will vary. Just keep in mind that this benefit can earn you a few hundred to a few thousand extra points depending on your spending habits.

Rewards Calculator

You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.

Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
