Chase 5/24 Rule
Before you dive into the world of Chase Bank credit cards, be aware that Chase has a "not-so-much-hidden-anymore" rule referred to as 'Chase 5/24'. If you've opened 5 new accounts within the past 24 months (2 years), Chase will usually deny you credit. Be sure to keep this in mind if you plan on adding any Chase credit cards to your wallet. If you have other credit cards in mind, it's best to start with Chase before you acquire too many new accounts on your credit report.
If you're not sure of how many new accounts you've opened, you can sign up for a free Credit Karma account. It will show you how many new accounts you've opened and you can use that to see if you fall under the 5/24 rule.
