Kroger Powerup Rewards allows you to earn points purchasing participating products in-store or online at Kroger brand stores. Points can then be redeemed for gamer-favorite rewards, grocery savings, gift cards, and experiences.

How does Kroger Powerup Rewards work?

For every $30 that you spend on purchases of qualifying products during a qualifying period, you will receive a unique one-time unique Powerup Rewards Points pin code redeemable for 1,000 Powerup Rewards points.

Qualifying purchases can be made in-store or online at Kroger brand stores and you must spend a full $30 on qualifying products to receive the 1,000 Powerup Rewards points. Spend amounts less than $30 prior to the end of a qualifying period will not carry over to the next qualifying period.

As a member, you must log into your Powerup Rewards account and redeem the code. You can earn multiple pin codes in any one transaction over the course of any Qualifying Period, but you are limited to depositing two pin codes per week and redeeming two rewards per week.

Redeeming Kroger Powerup Rewards points

Powerup Rewards Points can be redeemed for gamer rewards, grocery savings, and experiences.

Redeeming points for games

Powerup Rewards Points can be redeemed for games and downloadable content which consists of video game downloads and gift cards. The value you'll get out of these redemptions will range between 0.33 and 0.4 cents per point.

Gift Cards

Powerup Rewards Points can be redeemed for digital gift cards starting at 3,000 points for a $10 gift card. This includes:

  • Apple Gift Cards
  • Google Play Gift Cards
  • Roblox Gift Cards
  • Nintendo eShop Gift Cards
  • PlayStation Gift Cards
  • Xbox Gift Cards

You'll get the best value out of your points for redemptions that feature $50 gift cards for 12,500 points.

Video games

Powerup Rewards Points can be redeemed for physical and digital copies of a few select video games. The value you get out of this will depend on the current retail price of the game.

For example, as of writing this you can purchase Nickelodeon: All-Star Brawl for any console or on PC for 12,500 points. If you search online, you can purchase the game for $39.99 plus tax at most stores.

In this instance, this would be a loss of value considering you can buy a $50 gift card for the same 12,500 points, use that card to pay for the game, and still have a few dollars left over.

Powerup Rewards Points can be redeemed for select downloadable content. As with video games, the value you get out of this redemption will depend on how much the DLC is going for at the time of purchase.

Is the Powerup Points Rewards program worth it?

The best redemption option for Kroger Powerup Rewards Points is 12,500 points for a $50 gift card which will give your points a value of 0.4 cents each. Since you earn 1,000 points per $30 spent, you'll need to spend $390 on participating products in order to build enough points for a $50 gift card.

Crunching the numbers that comes out to be a 12.8% return on your spending which is a fantastic return on your spending. If you shop at Kroger frequently, I suggest signing up for an account so that you can build your rewards.

Even if you're not a gamer and you're redeeming points for grocery, you can still net about a 10% return on your spend which is still excellent value.
