List of perks and benefits for the Ulta Mastercard. Calculate total Ulta Rewards Points based on your spend at Ulta and compare against top rewards cards.
Updated 2021-02-20 By Robert Flowers III

The Ulta Mastercard is a great card for anyone looking to maximize their earnings in the Ultamate Rewards program. It offers an additional 1 point per $1 spent on top of what you normally earn meaning you're looking at a minimum of a 6% return on your Ulta spend on the lowest of redemptions and as high as 13% if you cash out on Ulta's 2,000-point redemptions. You can get even higher value if you have Ulta Platinum or Ulta Diamond status as well.

Bonus Categories

The Ulta Mastercard features one bonus category which is spending at Ulta. There's no limit to the amount of Ulta Rewards Points you can earn spending at Ulta and no limit to the amount of Ulta Rewards Points you can earn spending on the card overall.

  • 1x Ulta
    • Card is marketed as earning 2 points per $1 spent, but you're really just earning 1 additional point on top of what you would normally earn as an Ulta Rewards member.
  • 1x/$3 Non-Category
    • You'll earn 1 Ulta Rewards Points for every $3 in non-Ulta spend ran across the card.

Perks & Benefits

The Ulta Mastercard does not feature any benefits that are specific to the card itself.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard sign up bonus for the Ulta Mastercard is 20% off all products and services on your first Ulta Beauty purchase. This is a one time offer and excludes gift cards.

You can use the Percent Off Calculator to calculate 20% off any price to get an idea of how much you can save with this sign up bonus.

Fees

Annual Fee

The Ulta Mastercard does not have an annual fee.

Authorized User Fee

The Ulta Mastercard does not have an authorized user fee. If you have friends or family that shop at Ulta, I recommend adding them as authorized users to help build your rewards faster.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Ulta Mastercard has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. I do not recommend using this card outside of the United States since this fee will eat away at your rewards faster than you can earn them.

Ulta Rewards Points Value

The value of Ulta Rewards Points depends on how many you redeem at once. The table below lays out the value based on the increment redemptions set forth by Ulta.

Ulta Rewards Points Chart - Value
Points Discount Point Value
100 Points $3 Off 3 cents
250 Points $8 Off 3.2 Cents
500 Points $17.50 Off 3.5 Cents
750 Points $30 Off 4 Cents
1,000 Points $50 Off 5 Cents
2,000 Points $125 Off 6.25 Cents

The calculator below has then set to 3.5 cents per point, but you can set the value to any of the above options based on how you plan on redeeming them.

Rewards Calculator

You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.

Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
