Review the benefits of the Capital One Walmart Store Card, calculate how many Walmart Rewards Points you can earn based on spend, and compare to top cards.
Updated 2020-06-17 By Robert Flowers III

The Capital One Walmart Rewards Store Card is a great choice for those who plan on using the card to strickly shop at Walmart and Walmart owned properties. It earns Walmart Rewards Points at the same great rates that the Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard does, but lacks the ability to earn points outside of Walmart due to not having a network. Considering that the Mastercard's only benefit is being able to earn (at 2%) and redeem Walmart Rewards on travel and dining, you're not missing much by picking up the store card version.

Bonus Categories

The Capital One Walmart Store Card features five Walmart-related bonus categories. This is a store card meaning it has no network attached to it, so it can only be used at Walmart. This card will be tied to your Walmart account so I recommend creating one if you plan on picking up the card. There is no limit to the amount of Walmart Rewards Points you can earn spending in each Walmart category and no limit to the amount of Walmart Rewards Points you can earn with the Walmart Store Card in general. Points earned with the Walmart Store Card is for the life of the account. If your account is closed, you will lose any rewards you have not redeemed.

  • 5%
  • 5% Walmart Mobile Apps
  • 2% Walmart In-Store
  • 2% Walmart Gas Station
  • 2% Murphy Gas Station
  • 2% Purchase Of Gift Cards At Walmart
    • This includes buying gift cards in-store, online, or through the mobile app.

The difference between this card and the Walmart Mastercard is the 2% cash back on travel and dining. There are credit cards that can earn you a better return for both travel and dining, so you're not missing out on anything by picking up the store card if you're mainly going to use it at Walmart.

Perks & Benefits

The Capital One Walmart Rewards Store Card does not have any special perks or benefits that's specific to the card itself.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard sign up bonus for the Walmart Rewards Store Card is the ability to earn 5% back in Walmart stores for the first 12 months when you use your Capital One Walmart Rewards Card with Walmart Pay. Walmart Pay is a mobile wallet that allows you to purchase items with your phone using a stored credit, debit, or gift card. This is the same standard sign up bonus as the Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard.

Annual Fee

The Capital One Walmart Store Carad has no annual fee. This means you will always earn a positive return when running spend through the card.

Authorized User Fee

There is no fee to add authorized users to the Capital One Walmart Rewards Store Card. If you have friends or family that shops at Walmart, I highly recommend adding them to the card to earn Walmart Rewards Points faster.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Capital One Walmart Rewards Store Card does not have a network so it cannot be used outside of shopping with Walmart, so a foreign transaction fee does not apply.

Rewards Calculator

You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.

Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
