Sign Up Bonus
The standard sign up bonus for the Amtrak Platinum Mastercard is 12,000 bonus points after making at least $1,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of account opening. It's hard to predict how many rides you can squeeze out of that since it isn't a defined award chart, but the cash value ranges around $240 or more on average. It's a great sign up bonus for a card that has no annual fee.
The Amtrak Platinum Mastercard does not have an annual fee. This means you'll always be able to earn a positive return on your spend without worrying about having to meet a goal to cover the annual fee.
Authorized User Fee
There is no authorized user fee for adding users to the Amtrak Platinum Mastercard. If you're looking to build your Amtrak Guest Rewards Points, I recommend adding family and friends to your card so that they can assist you in running spend through it.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The Amtrak Platinum Mastercard has a 0% foreign transaction fee. This allows you to earn Amtrak Guest Rewards Points worldwide without worrying about being charged a fee.
You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.
Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
