Q Rewards points can be redeemed towards cash back, credit card purchases, eVouchers, annual fee credits, and at checkout with select retailers. Points can also be converted into Virgin Australia Velocity points and flybuys points.

Q Rewards points value

Q Rewards points are worth 0.27 cents per point on average when redeemed through BOQ. If you have the BOQ Platinum credit card, you'll be able to transfer points to Virgin Australia and flybuys which has the chance to grant you higher value.

Here's our valuations for BOQ Q Rewards points:

Redemption options Redemption value (in cents)
Transfers to Virgin Australia Velocity 0.16 - 1

How to calculate Q points value

The value of Q Rewards points can vary depending on how they are redeemed. You can calculate the value of Q Rewards points by dividing the cash cost of your redemption by the amount of points required.

Q Rewards Points Value = Cash Cost of Redemption Γ· Points Required for Redemption.

If you want to easily calculate the value of your points based on redemption versus cash cost, jump to our Q Rewards Redemption Value Calculator.

Ways to redeem Q Rewards points

Q Rewards points will have the best value when transferred to Virgin Australia which is only available to BOQ Platinum credit card holders. If you don't have this card, redeeming points for gift cards and vouchers will be the next best option.

Gift cards and eVouchers

Q Rewards Points can be redeemed for gift cards and eVouchers in the BOQ Rewards portal which will give your points a value of 0.27 cents each. Redemptions start at 7,200 points for a $20 gift card or eVoucher.

Do note that the cost in points can vary depending on which card you have. Some redemption values may change once you're logged into your BOQ Rewards account. The table below lists the amount of points needed for basic redemptions.

While it's not a "big" difference, some of the higher denominations will give you slightly (and I mean slightly) more value. You'll also want to note that some denominations may not be available with select retailers.

BOQ Q Rewards - Gift Card Redemptions
Denominations Cost In Points
$20 7,200 Points
$25 9,000 Points
$50 17,900 Points
$100 35,800 Points
$200 71,500
$300 107,200
$500 178,600

Redeem points for Apple products

You can redeem you Q Rewards Points towards purchases in the Apple catalogue which includes products like the iPhone, iPad, Macbook, and Apple Watch. This will give your points a value of about 0.21 cents.

Point transfers to partners

If you have the BOQ Platinum Visa Card, you'll be able to transfer points to Flybuys and Virgin Australia Velocity.

Virgin Australia Velocity points can be worth as little as 0.5 cents per point and as much as 3 cents per point or more depending on how you redeem them. This means that converting Q Rewards points to Velocity points can produce a wide range of values. I highly recommend finding a great redemption with Virgin Australia before transferring your points so that you can ensure you're getting solid value.

As for Flybuys, I am unsure of the transfer ratio for it is not listed on the site nor anywhere (at least that I can find) on the World Wide Web.
