Ways to redeem CommBank Awards points

You will get the best value out of CommBank points when transferring them to airline partners and redeeming them for upper-class flights. You can also net solid value redeeming them directly through CommBank for cash back or using them to pay at checkout with Myer and Flight Centre.

Booking travel with Flight Centre

You can use Pay with Points to redeem CommBank Awards points for travel through Flight Centre. Every 200 points redeemed is worth $1 in value with a minimum redemption of 2,500 points ($12.50).

Flight Centre can be used to book flights, hotels, car, cruises, vacation packages and more. You can redeem your points by selecting 'pay with CommBank Awards' or over the phone with Flight Centre.

Pay with points at Myer

CommBank Awards points can be redeemed towards purchases made in-store or online at myer.com.au using pay with points. Redemptions start at 200 points for $1 in value.

You can redeem your points in-store by asking a Myer team member and redeem your points online by selecting 'pay with CommBank Awards'. You can use Points plus Pay if you don't have enough points to pay for your entire purchase.

Cash back

CommBank Award points can be redeemed to pay off your purchases including the annual fee of your Awards credit card. Every 200 points is equal to $1 in cash back which gives you a value of 0.5 cents per point.

Gift card redemptions

CommBank Award points can be redeemed for gift cards and experiences starting at 5,350 points for a $25 gift card. You'll get the best value of 0.48 cents per point when redeeming your points for a $200 gift card.

Point transfers to partners

CommBank Awards points can be transferred to a large list of frequent flyer and hotel rewards programs. This can give you out-sized value when transferred to select partners and redeemed for high value.

While having this many partners offers great flexibility, the transfer ratio for a good handful of them are not that great. Exchanging 3.5 points or higher for a single point or mile will make it hard to build your rewards and will heavily devalue your points in most instances.

Shopping the Awards eShop

CommBank Awards points can be redeemed for merchandise in the Awards eShop. The value you get out of the eShop will heavily vary, but most items I price tested gave between 0.2 and 0.3 cents per point in value. You'll also find some items in the eShop on sale which can net you slightly higher value.

Another big plus is that you can use Points plus Pay, so you can use your points to shave down the cost of your purchase and pay the rest with your card.
