Earning Rewards

The CIBC Dividend Visa Card earns cash back at the following rates:

  • 2% cash back on groceries.
  • 1% cash back on eligible gas, electric vehicle charging, transportation, dining and recurring payments.
  • 0.5% cash back on everything else.

All bonus categories (2% and 1%) are capped at $80,000 in net annual purchases across all cardholders or $20,000 across each specific category, whichever comes first. Once that cap is hit, all card purchases will earn at the normal rate of 0.5% cash back.

  • Save with Journie Rewards: Save up to 10 cents per litre at participating Pioneer, Fas Gas, Ultramar and Chevron gas stations when you link your card with Journie Rewards.
  • Travel & Purchase Insurance: Common Carrier Accident Insurance, Purchase Security and Extended Protection Insurance.

Annual Fee

The CIBC Dividend Visa Card has no annual fee.

Authorized User Fee

Add up to 3 authorized users to the CIBC Dividend Visa Card for $0 per additional card.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The CIBC Dividend Visa Card has a foreign currency conversion fee of 2.5%. This means you will be penalized when using this card to make purchases that are not in Canadian Dollars.
