Allegiant Point Calculator - Allegiant World Mastercard

Allegiant Mastercard

3X Allegiant Purchases

The Allegiant Mastercard from Bank of America is required in order to earn Allegiant Points. This credit card builds Allegiant Air points and allows you to redeem them at a flat rate of 1 cent per point. Points earned by this card cannot be applied to any other airline, so you're locked to only redeeming them for Allegiant Air. If you do a great deal of flying with Allegiant Air, this Mastercard could be right down your alley.

Allegiant Point Calculator

Allegiant Points are worth 1 cents per point. They can be redeemed for Allegiant flights, hotel stays, and car rentals booked through Allegiant Points are not transferable and cannot be used with any other airline or program. Since this is the only card that offers Allegiant Points, you can use the Allegiant Point Calculator located in the Allegiant Redemption Chart to calculate the value of any amount of airline points.

Bonus Categories

The Allegiant World Mastercard features two bonus categories which are purchases with Allegiant Airlines and purchases made at restaurants. There is no limit to the amount of Allegiant Points you can earn with the Allegiant Mastercard. Do note that you must be a myAllegiant World Mastercard holder in order to participate in their myAllegiant Rewards Program.

3x Allegiant Airlines

Purchases made with Allegiant Airlines using the Allegiant World Mastercard will earn 3x Allegiant Points per $1 spent. This includes purchases of airfare, hotels, car rentals, and attractions bough through Allegiant Airlines. Since Allegiant Miles are worth 1 cent each, you're looking at a return of 3% which isn't bad, but there are cards that can earn just about the same amount or slightly better such as the Barclay Uber Card (3% cash back; no annual fee), AMEX Gold Card (3%+ return; $250 annual fee), and Citi ThankYou Premier Card (3%+ return; $95 annual fee).

2x Dining

Using the Allegiant World Mastercard for dining purchases will earn 2x Allegiant Points per $1 spent. This includes purchases of fine dining and fast food. Purchases in this category will give you a 2% return. When it comes to dining, this can be improved upon across several cards including the Barclay Uber Card (4% cash back; no annual fee) and the PNC Cash Rewards Card (3% cash back; no annual fee). If you're looking to build your Allegiant Points then this isn't a bad category to spend in, but if not, you should put that spend elsewhere.

Any purchases on the Allegiant World Mastercard outside of the two listed above will only earn 1 Allegiant Points per $1 spent. This is a sad return of 1%. This type of miscellaneous spend should be put on a different reward card that earns at least a return of 1.5%. If you're looking to redeem for travel purchases, you will want to go for a bank program card such as the DiscoverIT Miles Card or the Bank of America Travel Rewards Card. Even a simple cash back card such as the Capital One Quicksilver Card will earn a better return. I do not recommend putting non-category spend on this card even if you are looking for Allegiant Points.

Perks and Benefits

Buy One, Get One Free

The Allegiant World Mastercard offers a 'Buy One, Get One Free' on airfare when it is used to purchase a vacation package from Allegiant with four or more hotel nights or seven or more rental car days on the same itinerary.

Complimentary Priority Boarding

Allegiant World Mastercard holders will receive priority boarding. This will let you get on the plane earlier than other zones and settle in faster. Perks such as this can also net you some overhead bin space so you're not stuck looking for a place to put your luggage after getting on the plane last.

Free Beverage

If you're holding the Allegiant World Mastercard, you will receive one free beverage every time they fly Allegiant and show the credit card.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard Allegiant World Mastercard sign up bonus is 15,000 bonus points which is equal to $150 off your next Allegiant trip.

Credit Card Fees

Annual Fee
Authorized User Fee
Foreign Transaction Fee

Annual Fee

The annual fee for the Allegiant Credit Card is $59. This is much lower than the standard co-branded airline card which is usually around $95 like the Delta Gold Card (which waives the first year's annual fee).

Authorized User Fee

The Allegiant Credit Card has an annual fee of $0. If you're looking to earn myAllegiant Miles, I'd recommend adding friends and family to help buy running spend through this card's bonus categories.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The foreign transaction fee is 3% on the Allegiant Credit Card. This means you will be charge $0.03 per every dollar you spend internationally. I would not use this card overseas. There are better cards when it comes to international purchases such as the Barclay Uber Card or any of the Capital One Cards such as the Quicksilver Card.

Recommended Cards

The Allegiant Air's lack of perks and benefits makes this card not worth the annual fee attached to it. And while the 3% back on Allegiant Air purchases are nice, the earnings are locked to only that airline. Below are a few cards that open up more earning opportunities.

Bank Reward Points

There are a great deal of bank programs that offer points that have multiple uses. The most popular three are AMEX Membership Reward Points, Chase's Ultimate Rewards Points, and Citi ThankYou Points. All of these programs offer points that are redeemable for travel, statement credits, gift cards, vacation packages, and much more. They also feature bonus categories ranging from grocery to gas to travel so that you can earn lots of points on everyday purchases!

Citi Double Cash

If you're looking for a card that will get you some solid cash back without an annual fee, the Citi Double Cash is right down your alley. It earns 1% cash back when you use the card to charge purchases and 1% back when you pay off those charges for a total of 2% cash back. The cash back from the Double Cash card beats Allegiant Air's points immediately due to the fee.
