There are no Qantas credit cards available for U.S.-based Qantas Frequent Flyer members. Luckily, several of the big bank programs allow you to transfer points directly to your Qantas account. This lets you easily build points on everyday spend and accumulate large chunks of points through partner credit card sign up bonuses.

American Express Membership Rewards transfers to Qantas Frequent Flyer Points at a 1:1 ratio which opens up a flood gate of earning potential. AMEX has 10 point earning cards in their program that stretches across grocery, gas, airfare, and restaurant purchases. Membership Rewards will ensure that you're always earning between 2-5 points per $1 spent on all purchases.

Citi ThankYou Points

Citi ThankYou Points transfer to Qantas Frequent Flyer Points at a 1:1 ratio. This makes the ThankYou Points program another great option for earning Qantas Points thanks to the great categories featured on Citi's line-up of credit cards. This includes the equivalent of 5 Qantas Points per US$1 on airfare & dining and 3 Qantas Points per US$1 on hotels, cruise lines, and travel. You can also earn Qantas Points on entertainment, grocery, and gas.

Capital One Miles

Capital One Venture Miles and Capital One Spark Miles transfer to Qantas Frequent Flyer at a 4:3 ratio. This means you can use the Capital One Venture Card or Capital One Spark Miles Visa Signature to earn 1.5 Qantas Points on all purchases since both cards earn 2 Capital One Miles per $1 spent. While it's not better than AMEX or Citi, it's still a solid option for U.S.-based customers to earn a steady amount of Qantas Points on all purchases.

Marriott Hotels

Marriott Bonvoy Points transfer to Qantas at a 3:1 ratio making Marriott the best hotel rewards program for those looking to earn Qantas Points. Those who are able to maximize their Marriott earnings can earn up to 23.5 Marriott Points per $1 spent at Marriott Hotels (Marriott Credit Card + Marriott Titanium (or higher) Status) which is equal to 7.83 Qantas Points per $1 spent.


Accor Points transfers to Qantas at a 1:1 ratio. This makes Accor another solid choice for earning Qantas Points. There are no Accor credit cards available to U.S.-based members, so earning Accor Points will come from Accor hotel stays and earning partners.

Earning Points With Partner Credit Cards

Qantas has over 50 Qantas Point earning credit cards for those living in or around Australia, but none of those are for U.S.-based customers. Best Credit Cards For Travel

There's a few options for earning Qantas Points on travel. The best card for general travel purchases will be the Citi ThankYou Premier Card which earns 3 points per $1 spent on all travel purchases. If you're looking for specifics, the Citi Prestige earns 5 points per $1 on airfare and 3 points per $1 on cruise line and hotel purchases. The AMEX Platinum also earns 5 points per $1 spent on airfare and grants superb lounge access benefits amongst other luxury travel perks.

If you spend money with, both Capital One Credit Cards earn 10x points at until January 2020. Thanks equal to 7.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent!

Best Credit Cards For Gas

Earning Qantas Points on gas station purchases will come down to the Citi ThankYou Premier which earns 3 points per $1 spent or the AMEX Everyday Preferred which earns up to 3 points per $1 spent. Both are solid options for earning points, but the Citi Premier doesn't require you to jump through any hoops (even if those hoops are easy to jump through).

If you're looking to earn a solid amount of Qantas Points on all purchases, look no farther than the AMEX Blue Business Plus Card which earns 2 points per $1 spent on the first $50,000 in purchases made during the year. If you're not fond of picking up a business card, the next best option is the AMEX Everyday Preferred which can earn up to 1.5 points per $1 spent on non-category purchases.
