FREE Spirit Miles are primarily earned by flying Spirit Airlines, but miles can also be earned using booking hotels, renting cars, crusing the seas, and even shopping online.

Earn Flying Spirit

When you sign up for a FREE Spirit account, you will be able to start earning FREE Spirit Miles when flying Spirit Airlines. Based on your Spirit Elite Status you will earn a certain amount of FREE Spirit Miles based on distance flown on Spirit. New members will earn 50% of flown miles while those who earn Elite or VIP status will earn 100% of flown miles. This means that earning elite status with Spirit will be important if you frequently fly their airline.

Spirit will tell you the total miles for each flight. Non-elite members will only see 50% of those miles.

If you're looking for an easy way to obtain elite status with Spirit, you can easily do so by picking up the Spirit Mastercard. Cardholders will only need to make one card purchase per month to receive complimentary elite status. It's an easy way to always make sure that you earn 100% of your miles. Spirit Mastercard holders will also be able to book off-peak redemptions starting at a quarter of the price of non-cardholders which can give Spirit Miles up to 1.6 cents each in value.
