United Club Business Card
Review the benefits of the United Club Business Card, calculate how many United Miles you can earn based on your spend, and compare results to top cards.
The United Club Business Card is the business version of the United Club Infinite Card. It offers a few similar benefits such as United Club Membership, free checked bags, and status with Hertz Car Rental. It's a solid business card for those who wants great benefits when flying United.
The United Club Business Card has one bonus category which is for United purchases. There is no limit to the amount of miles you can earn with the card and there is no cap to the 'United purchases' category on this card. Below are the details of the Club Business Card's earning structure.
2x United Airlines
The United Club Business Card will earn you 2 United Miles per $1 spent on United Airlines purchases. This includes United airline tickets (purchased directly with United), seat upgrades, in-flight purchases on United flights (food, beverages, and Wi-Fi), United Events, baggage service charges, and other United fees. This does not include United Cruises®, MileagePlus X, DIRECTV, and Merchandise Awards.
All spending on the United Club Business Card outside of United Airline purchases will earn 1.5 MileagePlus Miles per $1 spent. This is an excellent rate for anyone looking to earn United Miles on all purchases.
Perks and Benefits
United Club Membership
The United Club Business Card comes with United Club Membership which is one of the primary reasons of picking up this card. Authorized users will not receive their own United Club membership and are only eligible for United Club access if they accompany you and qualify as an eligible guest per United Club guest policies.
If you have a United Club Membership, you can have your United Club Fee Waived or Reimbursed for the unused portion of your United Club membership once approved for the United Club Business Card.
United Priority Services
As a United Club Business Card member, you and your companions traveling on the same reservation are eligible for premier access. This includes designated check-in lines, priority security lanes, priority boarding, and priority baggage handling. Authorized users of the Club Business Card will not receive this perk unless they are traveling with you as a companion on the same reservation.
Two Free Checked Bags
When you use the United Club Business Card to pay for your United airfare ticket, you and up to one companion traveling on the same reservation will receive the first and second checked bags free (standard size bag). Authorized users of the Club Business Card are only eligible if they are on the same reservation as you.
Hertz President's Circle Membership
You will receive complimentary Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President's Circle Membership as a United Club Business Card member. This benefit applies only to the you, the primary cardholder. Sign Up Bonus
The standard sign up bonus for the United Club Business Card is a $100 statement credit after your first purchase. From time to time, United will also offer miles as a sign up bonus during promotions.
As part of a promotion lasting until 4/2/20, the United Club Business Card has a sign up bonus of 100,000 bonus mles after you spend $10,000 on purchases within the first 3 months your account is open. The United Business Card is also featuring the same promotion until 4/2/20.
Credit Card Fees
|Authorized User Fee|
|Foreign Transaction Fee|
The annual fee for the United Club Business Card is $450. Unless other luxury cards, there's no annual credits to help pad the annual fee so you'll have to rely on benefits alone to see if this card is worth it.
In my opinion, this card is primarily for those who want United Club Membership who don't have the means of acquiring it through United Premier Status or through partner airlines. Membership costs $650, so you would come out ahead picking up this card for membership and all it's perks versus paying out the pocket if you don't already have a United credit card.
The United Club Business Card also offers two free checked bags. While you can get your first checked bag free with several United Cards, only this card and the United Club Infinite cards offer a second checked bag. Checking the second back on United will cost you $45 one-way, $90 roundtrip per person. That can add up really fast.
Authorized User Fee
The United Club Business Card has an authorized user fee of $0. This means you can add employees, friends, and family for no additional fees. This can help build your balance of United Miles quicker. Authorized users of the United Club Business Card will not have access to several of the cards benefits without the primary user traveling along, so keep that in mind.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The foreign transaction fee for the United Club Business Card is 0%. This allows you to earn United Miles worldwide without worrying about being penalized with a fee for out of country purchases.
