HSBC Premier World Mastercard
Review the benefits of the HSBC Premier World Mastercard, calculate how many HSBC Points you can earn based on spend, and compare against top rewards cards.
The HSBC Premier World Mastercard is a no-annual fee travel card available to HSBC Premier clients. This card earns 2x points on travel purchases and offers a TSA PreCheck credit, annual rideshare credits, and good travel coverage. The card also has no foreign transaction fee which makes it a decent card for international travel. You can pair it with the HSBC Advance Mastercard or HSBC Cash Rewards Mastercard to have a great fee-less card combo.
In order to obtain the HSBC Premier World Mastercard, you must be have a HSBC Premier Checking account.
HSBC Premier Checking
- Have at least $75,000 in total deposits and/or investments
- Have at least $5,000 in total direct deposits per month
- Maintain U.S. residential mortgage loan with an original loan amount of at least $500,000
If you close your HSBC Premier Checking or you downgrade to an HSBC Advance Checking account, you can still hold onto the HSBC Premier World Mastercard, but it will cost you an annual fee.
The HSBC Premier World Mastercard features one bonus categories which is travel purchases. There's no limit to the amount of bonus points you can earn spending in the travel category and there's no limit to the amount of points you can earn with the card overall.
The HSBC Premier World Mastercard earns 2 HSBC Points per $1 spent on travel. Travel includes airlines, hotels, car rentals, transit, and much more. This is the only HSBC card with no annual fee that earns on travel purchases. You can pick up the HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard to earn a higher return on travel and many more benefits.
All non-travel purchases made on the HSBC World Elite Mastercard will earn you 1 HSBC Point per $1 spent. This is a relatively low return, but can be worth it depending on how much value you get out of HSBC Points. If you can't get more than a 1 cent per point return, I recommend running non-category spend through a 1.5% cash back or higher credit card.
