Review the benefits of the Quicksilver One, calculate how much cash back you can earn based on your spend, and compare the results to top rewards cards.
The Capital One Quicksilver One Card is an exact replica of the Capital One Quicksilver Card with one exception... it has an annual fee. The Quicksilver One Card is considered a starter card. This card is for those who have bad/no credit and looking to get started in the credit card world. The good think about the Quicksilver One Card is that you can product change (commonly referred to as 'PC') to the no-fee Quicksilver Card after some time. This is usually done by contacting Capital One and asking to do such. You may be successful the first time when trying to PC or it may take a few times. It all depends. If you have fair credit, I would avoid this card and go straight for the Quicksilver. And if for some reason you can't get the Quicksilver, there are plenty of 1.5% cash back credit cards as well as several cards that earn 2% cash back or higher that has no annual fee.
The Capital One Quicksilver One Card does not have any bonus categories. The card earns an unlimited 1.5% cash back per $1 spent on all purchases ran across the card.

Perks & Benefits
The Capital One Quicksilver One Card has one specific card perk which is Capital One Credit Steps. Outside of that, you'll receive the standard Capital One benefits. As your credit limit increases, you card can also become a World Elite Mastercard or Visa Signature Card which will grant additional benefits.
- Capital One Credit Steps
- Receive a higher credit limit after making the first 5 monthly payments on time.
- Meant for those rebuilding credit since available credit is important for building your credit score.
- Capital One Benefits
- Virtual Card Number
- Card Lock
- Paribus from Capital One
- CreditWise from Capital One
- World Elite Mastercard or Visa Signature Benefits
- Only applies if your credit limit raises high enough for it to be converted to a World Elite Mastercard or Visa Signature Card.
The Capital One Quicksilver One Card has a $39 fee. While this is a small fee, it will drag the value of the card down heavily as you'll need to spend a whopping $2,600 to cover that fee alone. You'll want to try to product change this card to the no-annual fee Capital One Quicksilver Card as soon as possible. If you're repeatedly unsuccessful in product changing this card then I recommend finding another 1.5% cash back credit card that has no annual fee.
Authorized User Fee
There is no fee associated with adding additional card holders to the Capital One Quicksilver One Card. If you're looking to earn more cash back, you can add additional users to help build your balance and make up for the annual fee.
Foreign Transaction Fee
As with all Capital One credit cards, the Quicksilver One Card does not have a foreign transaction fee. This means you can use the card for international spend and travel without worrying about being charged a fee per $1 spent outside the United States.
You can use this rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you minus the fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card against another card in the same calculator.
All category spend entered in the primary card's column will carry over to all credit card pages on the site so you don't have to re-enter the same information over again.
