Marriott Points Transfer
Marriott Bonvoy Points can be transferred to more than 40 airline partners. You can also transfer rewards to Marriott Bonvoy to top off your account.
Marriott Bonvoy Points can be earned by transferring rewards earned in partnering programs directly into your Marriott Bonvoy account. Marriott Bonvoy Points can also be transferred to over 40 airline partners mostly at a 3:1 ratio. The Marriott Bonvoy Points Calculators on this page will calculate the conversion of points to and from the Marriott Bonvoy program.
Marriott Transfer Partners
Marriott Bonvoy Points can be transferred to almost 40 airline partners. Most of these airline partner transfers are at a rate of 3 Marriott Bonvoy Points for 1 airline mile. This means you can earn 3.3 airline miles when you stay at Marriott Hotels and earn the base rate of 10 points per $1 spent. Marriott Elite Status can bump those earnings by up to 2.5 miles withe the 75% bonus you will receive from Marriott Platinum Premier Elite Status. Using any of the Marriott Credit Cards will also give you the equivalent of 2 additional miles. This means you can earn up to 7.83 airline miles per $1 spent with most of these transfer partners as a Platinum Premier Elite using any Marriott Credit Card.
Marriott Points Transfer Bonus
For every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points that you transfer, you will receive 15,000 bonus Marriott Points. Since most of these transfers are 3:1, that means you will earn an additional 5,000 miles for the majority of Marriott's transfer partners. This means you should always try to transfer your points in 60,000-point increments in order to maximize your transfer. Do note that this transfer bonus is factored into the Marriott Transfer Partner Calculator below. Hyatt also gives 5,000 bonus miles for larger point transfers.
Marriott Transfer Partners Calculator
The Marriott Transfer Partners Calculator will calculate the transfer of Marriott Bonvoy Points to Marriott's airline partners. You can enter any amount of Marriott Bonvoy Points to see how many airline miles you will end up with when transferred. Do note that this calculator does factor in the Marriott Transfer Bonus.
Marriott Skyteam Alliance Airline Partners
Marriott Bonvoy Points transfers to nine different frequent flyer programs that fall under the Skyteam Alliance. Those airlines are:
- Aeromexico Airlines
- Air France
- Alitalia Air
- China Eastern Airlines
- Delta Airlines
- Korean Air
If you favor airlines that are part of the Skyteam alliance, you will find some good use in transferring Marriott Bonvoy Points to top of your account. Transferring through Marriott is also one of the few ways to earn points with Korean Air for those who are based in the United States.
Marriott Oneworld Alliance Airline Partners
Marriott's transfer partners covers 8 airlines that are part of the Oneworld Alliance. Those airlines are:
- American Airlines
- British Airways
- Cathay Pacific
- Japan Airlines
- LATAM (Multiplus)
- Qantas Air
- Qatar Air
Those looking to earn American Airlines AAdvantage Miles outside of using AA credit cards will want to consider using Marriott to earn additional miles. None of the major bank programs (AMEX, Chase, Citi) transfers to American Airlines which can make it a little harder to build up your balance.
Marriott Star Alliance Airline Partners
Marriott's transfer partners consists of a whopping 14 Star Alliance airlines. Those airlines are:
- Aegan Airlines
- Air Canada
- Air China
- Air New Zealand
- All Nippon Airways (ANA)
- Asiana Airlines
- Avianca Airlines
- Copa Airlines
- Singapore Airlines
- South African Airlines
- TAP Air Portugal
- Thai Air
- Turkish Air
- United Airlines
Marriott Bonvoy Points is a superb choice for those who enjoy flying Star Alliance Airlines. On top of that, the Marriott-United Partnership makes everything even better thanks to the RewardsPlus program. This allows reciprocal elite status between both programs along with bonus points and elevated perks. United Miles can also be transferred to Marriott (though I wouldn't recommend this route).
Other Transfer Partners
Marriott Bonvoy Points transfers to several other airlines that are not part of the three major alliances listed above. There are a few airlines worth mentioning from the list.
Alaska Mileage Plan Miles are very valuable and can be very hard to accumulate. Outside of flying Alaska Airlines and using Alaska Airlines credit cards, there's not many ways to earn miles in their program. Using Marriott is one of the best alternative ways to stack your miles faster.
Southwest Rapid Rewards Miles can be earned flying Southwest, using Southwest credit cards, and utilizing their partners. Along with Ultimate Rewards Points, Marriott is a great alternative when it comes to building your Southwest Miles thanks to the solid transfer ratio.
Compare Marriott Transfer Partners
The tables below compares Marriott's transfer partners side by side against several other top programs that allow you to transfer points such as Hyatt, AMEX, Citi, and more.
Marriott vs Hyatt Transfer Partners
Marriott and Hyatt shares about 25 different airline partners. The transfer ratio for Hyatt is 2.5 points for 1 airline mile for most partners. While this ratio itself is technically "better", it's typically easier to earn Marriott Points at a faster rate than it is to earn Hyatt Points. For example, the majority of the Marriott Cards will give you 3 Marriott Points per $1 on non-category spend which is equal to one airline mile with most of Marriott's partners. The Chase Hyatt Card only gives 1 point per $1 spent which will not even give you half a mile.
Marriott vs Hilton Transfer Partners
Hilton is another popular hotel chain that has a great deal of partners. The transfer ratio for Hilton tends to be unfavorable for the majority of there transfers, but considering that you can earn Hilton Honors Points faster than any other hotel rewards currency makes it not as bad. Picking up the Hilton Aspire Card will grant complimentary Hilton Diamond Status giving you a total of 34 Hilton Points per $1 spent at Hilton Hotels. The transfer ratio for Hilton varies depending on the airline, but more than half are 10:1 meaning you would be earning 3.4 airline miles spending at Hilton Hotels using the Aspire Card. It's not the best, but it can still be useful for topping off your account if you're short a few miles from redeeming a reward.
Marriott vs AMEX Transfer Partners
American Express Membership Rewards is a direct transfer partner of Marriott. Membership Rewards transfers to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. This basically means that any airline that Marriott transfers to, Membership Rewards can be transferred there as well. There are only four reward programs that AMEX transfers to that Marriott does not and those programs are Aer Lingus (Avios), Choice Hotels, El Al Israel (Matmid), and Hilton Honors.
Marriott vs Citi Transfer Partners
With the exception of JetBlue, Citi's transfer partners focuses on non-U.S. airlines. Citi only has two airlines in which Marriott does not transfer to and those airlines are Eva Air and Malaysia Air. Other than that, Marriott has the upper hand on transfer partners outside of the 10+ airlines that both Citi and Marriott share.
Marriott vs Chase Transfer Partners
As with AMEX, Chase Ultimate Rewards is a direct 1:1 transfer partner of Marriott. This means that every airline that Marriott transfers to, Chase can also transfer to that partner by transferring to Marriott first. While this is not the best use of Ultimate Rewards Points, it can still be a great way to top off your miles. Ultimate Rewards Points also transfers to Hyatt and IHG in which Marriott (of course) does not.

You'll be able to earn 2x-5x points across several categories such as grocery, gas station, airfare, general travel, transit, and restaurant/dining. Those who have any of Chase's Ultimate Rewards Point earning cards, can convert cash back earned with Chase Cash Back Cards into Ultimate Rewards Points at a 1 cent for 1 point ratio. This gives you a total of 7 credit cards total to work with. The best cards for earning Marriott Points with Chase will be the Chase Ink Business Cash and Chase Freedom due to the possibility of earning 5x across different categories.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards transfer directly to Marriott Bonvoy Points at a 3:5 ratio meaning you can transfer 600 Hertz Points to get 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points. Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points are generally worth 2.5 to 5 cents per point depending on how many you redeem at once. Unfortunately, Hertz doesn't have any co-branded credit cards so you will have to earn Hertz Points by renting cars with them.

This allows you to earn Marriott Bonvoy Points flying United Airlines and by using their four co-branded mile earning cards (specifically the sign up bonus). United Miles have an average value of 1.4 cents, but can be worth more with a little research and dedication.
