The Expedia Voyager Credit Card is the best credit card for anyone looking to earn Expedia Rewards Points. Along with offering a great return on Expedia purchases, it provides several benefits that more than makes up for the annual fee. The only time the Expedia Voyager Card could possibily not be the better option over the Expedia Rewards Credit Card would be for anyone that doesn't spend more than $100 on airfare/airline purchases per year.

Bonus Categories

The Expedia Voyager Rewards Card features three bonus categories which are Expedia, restaurant, and entertainment purchases. There is no limit to the amount of bonus points you can earn spending in these categories and no limit to the amount of points you can earn with the card in general.

4x Expedia

The Expedia Voyager Rewards Card earns 4 Expedia Points per $1 spent with Expedia. This includes flights, hotels, activities, and travel packages booked through the Expedia website. Expedia points are worth between 0.71 and 1.42 cents depending on how you redeem them, so you're looking at a return of 2.8% to 5.68% per $1 spent which is pretty good. Considering that the card comes with a $100 credit that basically wipes out the annual fee, if you're looking to build Expedia points then this is the card you'll want to have.

2x Restaurant

Restaurant spend ran across the Expedia Voyager Rewards Card earns 2 Expedia Points per $1 spent. This is at most a 2.84% return which isn't "bad" if you want to strictly stick to earning points with Expedia, but there is room for improvement.

2x Entertainment

Entertainment purchases made on the Expedia Voyager Rewards Card earns 2 Expedia Points per $1 spent. Again this isn't a bad earning rate, but you're looking at a 2.84% return at most. If you're looking to earn a little more on Entertainment, the Capital One Savor earns 4% entertainment and restaurant purchases. You can also take a look at the no fee Capital One SavorOne Card which earns 3% cash back on the same two categories. It's worth taking a look at if you want to always earn 3% cash back versus earning a 2.84% return with Expedia on VIP hotel redemptions only.

1x Non-Category

The Expedia Voyager Rewards Card earns 1 Expedia Rewards Point per $1 spent. If you're only redeeming your points on VIP hotels, you're looking at a return of 1.42%. If you want to always earn at least a 1.5% return, there's plenty of 1.5% cash back cards such as the Capital One Quicksilver, AMEX Cash Magnet, and DiscoverIT Miles Card. You can take it a step up and consider earning 2% cash back with the Citi Double Cash or PayPal Cashback Mastercard.

Perks and Benefits

The Expedia Voyager Rewards Card comes with a bunch of benefits when compared to the normal Expedia Credit Card. This includes annual credits, anniversary points, and automatic Expedia Status.

$100 Annual Air Travel Fee Credit

Expedia Voyager Cardholders will receive an annual $100 air travel free credit. This credit can be used for airline incidentals such as checked bags, in-flight entertainment or refreshments, and in-flight WiFi. You can also use this credit for either the Global Entry or the TSA Pre✓ application fees. It's a relatively easy credit to use and make the card worth picking up since you're essentially getting your annual fee back.

Anniversary Bonus Points

Expedia Voyager Cardholders will receive 5,000 Expedia Points on their card membership year anniversary when $10,000 in spend is ran across the card during the previous membership year. This is equal to earning 1 Expedia Point for every $2 spent which isn't really that good. This is a nice bonus, but I wouldn't suggest purposely spending $10,000 to obtain it unless you were spending heavy in the card's bonus categories (specifically the Expedia category).

Expedia Gold Status

Expedia Voyager Cardholders will receive complimentary Expedia Gold Status. This comes with a 30% bonus on points, 250 bonus points when booking VIP access hotels, complimentary room upgrades at VIP hotels, and expedited customer service.

Sign Up Bonus

The Expedia Voyager Card has a standard sign up bonus of 50,000 Expedia Rewards Points after running $2,000 in purchases across the card within the first 3 months of opening. This sign up bonus is worth $710 when used at VIP hotels which is pretty great! When redeemed for non-VIP hotels, you're looking at a value of $355.

Credit Card Fees

Annual Fee
Authorized User Fee
Foreign Transaction Fee

Annual Fee

The Expedia Voyager Card has an annual fee of $95. Considering the card offers an annual $100 air travel credit, the card is worth picking up over the Expedia Rewards credit card since you can easily get more value out of the Voyager without any effort.

Authorized User Fee

The Expedia Voyager Card does not have an authorized user fee. If you have friends or family that spend in the bonus categories across the card, I recommend adding them as additional users. This will help you earn Expedia Rewards Points at a faster rate.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Expedia Voyager Card does not have a foreign transaction fee. This means you will not be penalized when using the card outside of the United States. This card doesn't offer much in terms of returns on everyday spend, but if you're looking to use the card to earn Expedia Points internationally, it will not hurt doing so.
