Cash Back Portals
Get the details of the most popular cash back portals such as Rakuten, TopCashback, BeFrugal, and more. Learn how to maximize your rewards shopping online.
Cash back portals allow you to earn cash back when shopping online at thousands of retailers. This works by:
- Starting your online shopping session at a cash back portal
- Clicking the portal's affiliate link to the store you wish to shop with
- The link will drop you off on that store's home page and you'll shop as normal
- Once the purchase is complete, the store will let the portal know and you'll earn cash back
Cash back portals (as well as shopping portals) basically pays you to shop. The plus to cash back portals is that it allows you to easily double and triple dip rewards. For example, Rakuten typically offers 2% cash back shopping at Athleta, but sometimes they offer up to 10% cash back or higher.
If you were to make a $200 purchase through Rakuten during a 10% cash back promo you would earn $20 in cash back. This is $20 is more than the $0 you would receive if you went to the site directly and made a purchase.
Another example is booking a rental with Enterprise. If you were to book a $100 rental with Enterprise, you could earn cash back for booking the rental.
What it really comes down to is that if you're going to make the purchase online, so you might as well earn cash back doing so.
Which Cash Back Portal Do I Use?
Several popular cash back portals exist and each cash back portal has their own pros and cons. When it comes down to it, no cash back portal is really "the best" as they all offer great deals from time to time... some more than others. As you start to use these portals, you'll more than likely develop a favorite which is fine. I tend to use Rakuten the most, but if another portal has an excellent promotion going on, I will make my purchase through the other portal for the better return.
You can choose to use one portal or you can use all of the portals. Jumping portal to portal can be time consuming, but luckily CashBackMonitor.com exists. The site tells you which portals are offering what and can help you easily find the best return.
Personally, I'm signed up with all of them because you never know when a portal is going to have a great deal. I don't want to waste time trying to sign up for a portal to take part of a deal as I'd rather just log in, click through to the store's website, and make my purchase. Again, this is personal preference. I recommend getting a feel for each portal.
If you do decide on a cash back portal or multiple cash back portals, consider signing up through the links below to help out the site. It is greatly appreciated if you do.
