The Amazon Prime Store Card is an upgraded version of the Amazon Store Card for Prime Members. It adds the ability to earn 5% cash back when shopping on Amazon. If you're already a Prime member it's one of the many Amazon Credit Cards available to earn big when shopping on Amazon.com.
The Amazon Prime Store Card does not have a network and can only be used on Amazon.com to earn cash back. Cash back earned on the card can be applied to your card statement balance and applied to future purchases on Amazon.com.
The Amazon Prime Store Card earns 5% cash back on Amazon.com purchases. This is the highest amount of cash back you can receive when shopping on Amazon with any of their Prime cards. The only card that can temporarily earn more is the Discover IT which offers doubles the amount of cash back in the first year of having the card giving you a chance to earn 10% cash back during the quarter that features Amazon.com purchases.
Amazon Store Cardholders (non-Prime) do not earn 5% cash back on Amazon.com.
Perks and Benefits
The Amazon Prime Store Card and Amazon Store Card both offer promotional financing on Amazon.com purchases. This allows you to pay over time for your Amazon.com purchases based on the cost of the purchase. The length of time you have to pay will be based off the amount of the purchase.
- 6 Month Financing - $149 to $598.99
- 12 Month Financing - $599 or more
- 18 Month Financing - $799 or more
Amazon Prime Store Card members who opt for special financing will not receive 5% cash back on their Amazon.com. At the time of purchase, you will be able to decide between 5% cash back or special financing. Financing is not availble for purchases under $149.
If you don't pay your balance off during the special financing period, you will amass a large amount of interest. Minimium payments will usually not take care of the full balance so be sure to plan ahead and make appropriate payments so that you don't get stuck with the high interest rate of store cards.
Sign Up Bonus
The sign up bonus for the Amazon Prime Store Card and Amazon Store Card is a $10 Amazon.com gift card. Both the Chase Amazon and Chase Amazon Prime cards offer a $70 gift card while the Amazon Business AMEX and Amazon Business Prime AMEX offer $100 and $125 Amazon Gift Cards for new cardholders. So $10 is a little on the small side, but it's better than nothing!
