Cardholders will also receive several perks and bonuses that can save a great deal of money over the course of the year for any hardcore American Eagle shopper.

Bonus Categories
The American Eagle credit cards both feature one bonus category which is American Eagle purchases. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn spending in this category and there is no limit to the amount of points you can earn using either of the American Eagle Credit Cards. Below are the details of how the American Eagle Credit Cards earn points.
15x American Eagle
In addition to the 10 points you will earn as a member, American Eagle Credit Card holders will receive 5 additional points per $1 spent when they use their card for American Eagle purchases. Eligible purchases include purchases at AEO and Aerie stores and at ae.com and aerie.com. These AEO points are calculated after discounts, taxes and fees and you will not earn points on gift card purchases.
Card members will earn 5 points more than the basic member which is an increase of 2% more in earnings. When it comes to purchases directly with American Eagle, you can match this return by being a member and using a card such as the Citi Double Cash or American Express Blue Cash Everyday to earn 2% back on department store purchases with no annual fee. Of course, you'll have a mix of points and cash back instead of all points, but it goes to show you that this return isn't anything over the top and can be easily matched. You can even take it a step farther with the Blue Cash Preferred which earns 3% back on department stores and 6% back on grocery stores!
5x Non-Category
American Eagle Visa Card holders will receive 5 points per $1 spent for any purchases outside of American Eagle. Do note that the American Eagle Store Card can only be used with AEO and Aerie. Earning 5 American Eagle Points is equal to earning 2% cash back which is a very nice return for non-category purchases on a store card, but again it can be beat by cards such as the Citi Double Cash which earns 2% on all purchases as well. If you're a hardcore AEO shopper, using the American Eagle Visa Card will be very beneficial for you.
Perks and Benefits
The American Eagle Credit Cards are stacked with benefits that can save you a great deal of money such as free shipping, 20% off birthday coupons, and Buy 5 Get 1 Free deals. Even if you don't plan on putting a great deal of spend through the card, these perks can save hundreds of dollars for any consistent AEO shopper. Below are the list of benefits included for American Eagle Cardholders. Benefits below are for both the Visa Card and Store Card unless otherwise stated.
20% Off Birthday Coupon
American Eagle Credit Card members will receive a 20% off a single total purchase within their birthday month. This is 5% more than the standard AEO non-credit card member birthday coupon.
Buy 5 Get One Free
American Eagle Credit Card members that purchase 5 pairs of jeans will receive a coupon for 1 pair free. Members will also receive a coupon for 1 free bra after purchasing 5 bras as with the jeans. Both of these offers will not expire as long as the AEO account is kept active.

American Eagle Credit Card members that spend $350 in a calendar year on net qualifying purchases at American Eagle Outfitters stores, Aerie stores, AEO Factory stores, through online transactions, and via direct phone orders will receive Extra Access Status. Extra Access members will receive a $15 Off Reward for every 2,500 points earned for an exceptional return of 9% for AEO purchases and 3% for non-AEO purchases. There is where it pays to have this card since you're looking at such a high return. If you can easily spend $350 on this card and earn at a the Extra Access Status rate, this card will be beneficial for anyone that is a continuous customer of American Eagle stores.

Annual Fee
The annual fee for both American Eagle Credit Cards is $0. Considering the amount of cash back and savings you can earn with this card, this is awesome for anyone that wants to earn rewards directly with American Eagle.
Authorized User Fee
There is no authorized user fee for the American Eagle Credit Cards. If you want to dedicate your rewards to AEO, adding family and friends as additional cardholder can earn some extra points toward American Eagle purchases and assist with reaching Extra Access Status.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The American Eagle Visa Card has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. If you're looking to earn rewards out of country, I do not recommend using this card. You'll want to find a card that offers a 0% foreign transaction fee on international spending.

You can use this rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you minus the fees.
