Program Details

Barnes & Noble is an American bookseller headquartered out of New York City, New York. They have the largest number of retail outlets in the United States with more than 620 stores.

Barnes & Noble Rewards and Membership

Barnes and Noble offers an annual membership as well as a rewards card that allows you to participate in the Barnes and Noble Rewards program. If you do not have the Barnes and Noble Mastercard, you will not be able to earn Barnes and Noble Points.

Barnes and Noble membership can easily be worth the $25 annual fee.

Barnes and Noble Membership

Barnes and Noble membership is pretty straightforward. For $25 annually, you will receive a few benefits which includes:

  • 40% off the list price of the current hardcover Barnes & Noble Store Bestsellers
  • 10% off the marked Barnes & Noble sale price of other eligible items
  • Free Standard Shipping with no Minimum purchase
  • Various coupons for additional savings sent throughout the year

This membership is easily worth $2.08 per month if you buy at least a book or two per month. Even if you don't particularly care for the 40% off bestsellers, the 10% on everything else as well as the free shipping and occasional coupons should easily save you more than $25. Plus, you'll typically earn 10% off purchases at the cafe as well.

Barnes & Noble Points

Barnes and Noble Rewards Points are earned by making purchases on the Barnes & Noble Mastercard. Points earned with the Mastercard are worth 1 cent each and are automatically redeemed for a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card when you hit 2,500 Barnes & Noble Points. You can only earn Barnes & Noble Points by making non-Barnes & Noble purchases on the card. When you use the card at Barnes & Noble or on BN.com, you will receive a 5% discount instead of receiving points.

You can use the Barnes & Noble Point Value Calculator below to calculate the cash value of points earned with the Barnes & Noble Mastercard. The calculator will output the cash value of your points and show you how many $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards you can get out of the points you entered. Remember that redemptions are automatically processed when you hit 2,500 B&N Points. If your account is closed, all B&N points will be forfeited.

Credit Card Rewards Calculators

The Barclays Barnes and Noble Mastercard is the best choice for anyone looking to earn a 5% return on purchases made at their bookstores. The remaining benefits of the card are "okay", but the great return on purchases made at Barnes & Noble is pretty much all the card has going for it. The ability to earn Barnes and Noble Points is nice, but you can earn an equal or better return using many different cards in which you can redeem rewards for more than just Barnes and Noble gift cards.

Compare credit cards side by side based on spend, benefits and fees.

You can click on the Barnes & Noble credit card below to learn about the bonus categories, perks & benefits, standard sign up bonus, and fees of the card. The credit card also has it's own Barnes & Noble Rewards calculator. The calculator will calculate how many Barnes & Noble Points you can earn and the cash value of the credit card based on your monthly/yearly spend, how much each card benefit is worth to you, and the fees of the card. You can compare the results side by side any credit card featured on the site. Any spend you enter into the credit card calculator will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site, so there's no need to re-enter spend when jumping page to page.

Comparison Calculators

Comparison Calculators features side by side comparisons of frequently compared credit cards or comparisons requested through our YouTube channel. These calculators are already set up so you can immediately start calculating total rewards as well as the cash value of the compared cards based on your monthly/yearly spend, how much the card benefits are worth to you, and the annual fees. Comparison Calculators does not allow you to change the designated cards being compared. If you want to compare credit cards outside of the comparisons listed below, I recommend searching for the credit card you want to compare and then using its calculator to compare it against anything featured on the site.
