Review the benefits of the Best Buy Store Card, calculate how many Best Buy Points you can earn based on spend, and compare against top cards.

The Best Buy Store Card is a great option who want to earn the best return return on Best Buy purchases. With this card you will earn a 5% to 6% return based on your Best Buy elite status and that's not including the points you will earn from just being a My Best Buy Rewards member. This is also a great card for anyone looking to finance Best Buy purchases of $199 or higher.

Do note that this card does not have a network (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and thus can only be used at Best Buy (in-store) or online at BestBuy.com.

Bonus Categories

The Best Buy Store Card features one bonus category which are in-store or online purchases made at Best Buy. There is no limit to the amount of Best Buy Points you can earn using this card.

  • 2.5x Best Buy
    • Applies to in-store and online purchases made with Best Buy.
    • Equal to a 5% return since Best Buy Points are equal to 2 cent each.

Since the Best Buy Store Card does not have a network attached to it, it can only be used in-store and online with Best Buy. If you want to earn Best Buy Points for other purchases, you'll need the Best Buy Visa Card.

Perks & Benefits

The Best Buy Store Card features one primary benefit and that's the option for flexible financing on Best Buy purchases.

  • Best Buy Flexible Financing
    • Finance in-store and online purchases that cost $199 and up.
    • You will not earn rewards on purchases that are financed.
    • Financing options include, but are not limited to:
      • 6-Month Financing On Sitewide Purchases
      • 12-Month Financing On Sitewide Purchases
      • 18-Month Financing On Appliance & Geek Squad Purchases
      • 24-Month Financing On Home Theatre & Geek Squad Purchases
      • 24-Month Financing On Unlocked Phones & Geek Squad Purchases
      • 24-Month Financing On Select Exercise Equipment

Make sure your payments will get you to $0 before your financing is up so that you don't pay interest!

The minimum payment that is provided will usually not cover the full cost of the purchase, so you'll want to divide your purchase by the number of financing months you were given and pay that amount. This way you'll have a zero balance when you make your last payment.

Sign Up Bonus (SUB)

The standard sign up bonus on the Best Buy Store Card is 10% back in rewards on your first day of purchases or special financing. Considering that you can get special financing any time, I consider going for the 10% back in rewards.

The Best Buy Visa Card offers the same standard sign up bonus.

Fees

Annual Fee

The Best Buy Store Card does not have an annual fee. This means you will always earn a 5% return on your Best Buy purchases which makes this a great card to pick up if you commonly shop at Best Buy.

Authorized User Fee

There is no fee to add authorized users to your Best Buy Store Card. If you have family/friends that shop at Best Buy, adding them can help you earn Best Buy Points faster and thus get you closer to your next Best Buy Certificate sooner.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Best Buy Store Card cannot be used outside of Best Buy so foreign transaction fees does not apply to this card.
