Lowes Business Credit Card
The Lowe's Business Credit Card is (in my opinion) the best rewards card for anyone that spends a good amount of money shopping at this popular home improvement store. It earns Lowe's Business Reward Points which are good for Lowe's and AMEX gift cards. On top of that, you'll also save money on everyday Lowe's purchases and enjoy Lowe's ProServices which includes perks like discounted delivery. If you're a Do-It-Yourself'er or your business uses Lowe's faithfully, this is a business card that you will want in your wallet!
Lowe's Business Rewards Points
When you use the Lowe's Business Credit Card for purchases, you will earn Lowe's Business Rewards Points. These points can be redeemed for Lowe's gift cards and American Express gift cards. Each Business Rewards Point is worth 1 cent each. Redemptions start at 2,500 points for a $25 gift card. $50 and $100 redemptions are also available for 5,000 and 10,000 points respectively.
The Lowe's Business Credit Card features 4 bonus categories which are restaurants, office supply stores, U.S. wireless phone providers, and purchases at Lowe's. There is no limit to the amount of Lowe's Business Rewards Points you can earn using this card. Below are the details on the earning structure of the Lowe's Business Credit Card.
3x U.S. Restaurants
The Lowe's Business Credit Card earns 3 Lowe's Business Rewards Points per $1 spent when used at restaurants located within the United States. This includes fine dining and fast food purchases. Since these points are pegged at 1 cents each, you're looking at a 3% return on purchases in this category which is pretty good. That means spending about $834 on dining with the Lowe's Business Credit Card will earn you a $25 gift card. When it comes to business cards, this is one of the highest returns when it comes to eating out.
3x U.S. Office Supply Stores
You will earn 3 Lowe's Business Rewards Points per $1 spent when you use the Lowe's Business Credit Card for purchases at office supply stores located within the United States. This includes stores such as Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples. This is a 3% return which is a great rate. The Chase Ink Business Cash earns 5% cash back on office supply stores along with Internet, cable, and telecommunication purchases. The Bank of America Business Advantage Cash Rewards Mastercard also earns 3% cash back when used at office supply stores and earns 3% on gas station purchases as well.
3x U.S. Wireless Phone Providers
Using the Lowe's Business Credit Card at U.S. wireless phone providers will earn 3 Lowe's Business Rewards Points per $1 spent. This is another 3% return category which is a great return for anyone looking to earn some easy gift cards on a monthly charge. A few Chase Credit Cards do offer a higher rate though such as the Chase Ink Business Cash which earns 5% on telecommunications and the Chase Ink Business Preferred which earns 3 Ultimate Reward Points per $1 spent which is a return of at least 3.75%.
On top of earning a 5% discount, when the Lowe's Business Credit Card is used at Lowe's or Lowes.com you will earn 2 Lowe's Business Rewards Points per $1 spent. This is a return of 2% and when combined with the 5% discount on eligible everyday purchases, you're looking at an unbeatable 7% return on Lowe's purchases. That makes the Lowe's Business Card the best rewards card to use for Lowe's purchases.
Any spending on the Lowe's Business Credit Card outside of the categories listed above will earn 1 Lowe's Business Rewards Point per $1 spent. This is a low return of 1% and not the best when it comes to earning rewards. Non-Category spend would be better placed on a card that earns 1.5% cash back or better. If you're trying to stay in the AMEX line of cards, the Blue Business Plus Card earns 2 Membership Reward Points per dollar spent which is an easy 2% return. Outside of AMEX, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited and Capital One Spark Cash Select Business Visa both earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases and have no annual fee. Both of these cards can make a big difference over time and earn you Lowe's gift cards at a faster rate on non-category purchases.
Perks and Benefits
The Lowe's Business Credit Card doesn't feature a bunch of perks & benefits, but the few that it does offer makes a big difference for anyone that shops at Lowe's faithfully. Below are the perks of this Lowe's card.
5% Off Everyday Lowe's Purchases
Everyday purchases with the Lowe's Business Credit Card will earn a 5% discount. This discount will be applied after any other applicable discounts. This applies to US Lowe's stores, Lowes.com, & LowesForPros.com. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with: any coupon; Lowe's military discount; Lowe's employee discount; Lowe's low price guarantee; Lowe's volume or special discount programs; or any other offer which expressly states it can't be combined with any other discount credit offer. This also does not apply to shipping, delivery, or assembly charges. Basically, this perk is for simple, everyday home improvement purchases. Be sure to check the terms & conditions to see the full list of exclusions.
Lowe's Pro Services
Holders of the Lowe's Business Credit Card will receive Lowe's Pro Services. This includes Discounted Delivery, Bulk Rate Pricing, and the Business Replenishment Program. The full rundown of this service can be found on LowesForPros.com.
Sign Up Bonus
The Lowe's Business Credit Card sign up bonus is 5,000 Lowe's Business Rewards Points after spending $100 in purchases on the card within the first 30 days of card membership. 5,000 points is worth $50 which is not bad for only having to spend $100.
Credit Card Fees
|Authorized User Fee|
|Foreign Transaction Fee|
There is no annual fee for the Lowe's Business Credit Card. That means you will always get the best return when using this business card for purchases. This card usually features a 0% intro APR period as well.
Authorized User Fee
There is no fee for adding additional users to the Lowe's Business Credit Card. I recommend adding employees, family, or friends as authorized users in order to maximize the return on the bonus categories featured on this card.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The Lowe's Business Credit Card has a 2.7% foreign transaction fee. Since all the categories are U.S.-based and Lowe's is located in the United States, this shouldn't come as a surprise. I would not recommend using this card for foreign transaction since you will lose value at more than double the rate you can earn them.
You can use this rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you minus the fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card against another card in the same calculator.
All category spend entered in the primary card's column will carry over to all credit card pages on the site so you don't have to re-enter the same information over again.
