If you're in need of American Airlines miles, there are two programs in Canada that allows you to transfer points to AAdvantage: RBC Avion Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy. The transfer rates for both programs are relatively low, but they can still be useful for topping off your AAdvantage account.

RBC Avion Rewards credit cards

RBC Avion Elite points can be transferred to American Airlines AAdvantage at a 10:7 ratio. This means every 10,000 Avion Elite points you transfer to AAdvantage will give you 7,000 miles.

This isn't the best ratio, but it's the best when it comes to earning points transferable to AAdvantage in Canada. RBC credit cards offers some pretty decent intro bonuses, so you can top off your account with a decent amount of miles.

Marriott Bonvoy credit cards

Marriott Bonvoy points can be transferred to American Airlines AAdvantage at a 3:1 ratio. This means that every 3,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer to AAdvantage will give you 1,000 AAdvantage miles.

If you frequent Marriott properties and use Marriott credit cards to pay for your stays, you can easily build up lots of Marriott Bonvoy points with little to no effort. That makes Marriott an excellent choice if you enjoy flying American Airlines.

Do note that we do not have intro bonuses for all credit cards and we cannot calculate intro bonuses for some cards due to the complexity of some spend requirements.
