RBC Avion credit cards
RBC Avion Elite points can be transferred to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles at a 1:1 ratio. This means that every 1,000 Avion Elite points you transfer to your Asia miles account will give you 1,000 Asia miles.
This makes the RBC Avion Rewards program an excellent choice if you're looking to earn flexible travel rewards transferable to Cathay Pacific as well as other airline partners such as American Airlines and British Airways.
Here are the RBC Avion credit cards that earn Avion Elite points:
AMEX Membership Rewards credit cards
Membership Rewards points can be transferred to Cathay Pacific Asia miles at a rate of 1,000 AMEX points for 750 Asia miles. This ratio isn't as good as RBC's 1:1, but it is possible to earn lots more points with AMEX per $1 spent than with most of RBC's credit cards which mostly earn at a flat rate — so it somewhat evens out.
Here are the Membership Rewards credit cards you can use to earn Asia miles:
Marriott Bonvoy credit cards
Marriott Bonvoy points can be transferred to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles at a 3:1 ratio. This means that every 3,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer to Cathay Pacific will give you 1,000 Asia Miles.
On top of that, Marriott will throw in a bonus 15,000 points for every 60,000-block of points you transfer in a single transaction. This comes out to an additional 5,000 Asia Miles which means that a 60,000-Marriott Bonvoy point transfer to Cathay Pacific would net you a total of 25,000 Asia miles which is pretty good.
