Avion transfer partners
RBC has a total of five transfer partners. Which partners you can transfer your points to depends on which RBC Avion credit cards you hold.
Here's the full list of Avion transfer partners and the conversion ratios for each:
Avion Elite points can be transferred to all 5 of RBC's travel partners. RBC credit cards that earn Avion Elite points are:
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege Card
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card
- RBC Avion Visa Platinum Card
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite Business Card
- RBC Avion Visa Business Card
All other RBC Avion credit cards earn Avion Premium points which can only be transferred to WestJet Rewards and Hudson's Bay Rewards. The only exception to this is the ION+ Visa and ION Visa in which points can only be transferred to Hudson's Bay Rewards.
Avion points to British Airways
Avion Elite points can be transferred to British Airways at a 1:1 ratio. This means that 1,000 Avion Elite points can be converted to 1,000 British Airways Avios.
British Airways is the one of the best, if not the best, transfer partner for maximizing the value of your Avion points.
Transferring points to Avios can yield high value through short-haul trips with British Airways in Europe and their partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines in the U.S. and Canada.
Avios can also be used to fly with a handful of oneworld and airline partners. They can also be converted to Qatar Avios and redeemed for 5-star travel in Qatar's popular QSuites which can offer even higher value.
Avion Premium points cannot be transferred to British Airways Avios.
Avion points to WestJet
Avion Elite points and Avion Premium points can be transferred to WestJet at a rate of 1 point for $0.01 in WestJet Dollars.
WestJet Dollars are typically worth face value meaning that 1 WestJet Dollar is equal to 1 dollar towards travel purchased through WestJet. This means transfers to WestJet will give your Avion points a value of 1 cent each.
For Avion Elite point-earning cards, this will devalue your points since you can get as much higher using the Air Travel Redemption Schedule. For Avion Premium point-earning cards, this will be a solid redemption option, especially for ION cardholder holders who can only redeem points for 0.58 cents apiece.
Avion points to Hudson's Bay
Avion Elite points and Avion Premium points can be transferred to Hudson's Bay Rewards at a 1:2 ratio. This means 1,000 points can be converted to 2,000 Hudson's Bay Points.
Hudson's Bay Points have an average value of 0.5 cents each meaning that transferring points from RBC Rewards will give your points a value of 1 cent each.
As with WestJet, this will be a drop in value for Avion Elite points and an equal or better value for Avion Premium points.
