With most frequent flyer programs, you can expect to get between 1 and 1.5 cents per mile. You can typically obtain higher values of 2 cents or more for First/Business class redemptions or significantly lower if you're using miles for non-airfare related redemptions such as car rentals or gift cards.

It's worth mentioning that British Airways Avios can be converted back and forth between Iberia Avios and Qatar Avios at a 1:1 ratio. This means that Avios earned with any of the three programs are technically all worth the same value since you can move them around at will.

Delta SkyMiles are worth around 1.2 cents on average when redeeming them with Delta and their airline partners meaning that 10,000 SkyMiles is worth about $120 on average.

Another solid redemption option, available only to co-branded Delta credit cardholders, is Pay with Miles which allows you to redeem SkyMiles in 5,000-mile increments for $50 off the cost of your flight. You'll only get 1 cent per mile with this redemption, but it's really useful for group bookings when you don't have enough miles to cover everyone's ticket and still want to both save money and keep everyone on the same reservation.
