Alaska Mileage Plan members can earn additional miles dining through the Alaska Mileage Plan Dining program. Earn up to 5 miles per $1 spent on the entire bill including food, drinks, tax, and tip. Members can also earn 1,000 bonus miles with their first meal. Miles are earned by registering your credit card(s) with the dining program. When your card is used to make a purchase at a restaurant that is in their network, you'll earn bonus miles. Make sure you're adding a card that earns a great return on restaurant purchases.

Alaska Mileage Plan Shopping

Alaska Mileage Plan members can earn miles per $1 spent shopping at hundreds of stores such as Best Buy, Macy's, and Walmart through the Alaska Mileage Plan Shopping portal. You can buy or receive as a gift up to a total of 150,000 Alaska Miles per calendar year. Those with MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP Gold 75k elite status will have no annual purchase limit.

Sharing Miles Between Members

Alaska Airlines Miles can be shared with other members, but it will cost you. Alaska charges $10 per 10,000 miles transferred to another member. This is rate of $0.001 cents per mile which isn't a lot but still something you should be aware of when factoring in if it's worth it.

Alaska MVP Status

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Members can earn status by earning eligible miles and segments flown on Alaska Airlines and elite-qualifying partner airlines.
