How Many Avios Can You Buy?

You can buy as little as 2,000 Avios for $53 and as many as 200,000 Avios for $5,523 in a single transaction.

When buying Avios, they can only be purchased in select increments:

• 1,000-point increments from 1,000 Avios to 6,000 Avios
• 2,000-point increments from 6,000 Avios to 10,000 Avios
• 5,000-point increments from 10,000 Avios to 50,000 Avios
• 10,000-point increments from 50,000 Avios to 100,000 Avios
• 25,000-point increments from 100,000 Avios to 200,000 Avios

Example: Let's say you need to buy 73,000 Avios

You would need to buy 80,000 Avios because Avios can only be purchased in 10,000-point increments between 50,000 and 100,000 Avios.

You could also buy 70,000 Avios and then buy an additional 3,000 Avios as another transaction. This would come out cheaper than buying 80,000 Avios.

Do note that splitting the purchase amounts between two transactions is not always the cheapest, so be sure to do the math.
