JetBlue points can be redeemed for flights with JetBlue and their airline partners and vacation packages. You can also use points to wipe away charges made to eligible JetBlue credit cards. The best value will come from redeeming them for award flights with JetBlue.
JetBlue Points Value
Based on our validations, JetBlue points are worth 1.5 cents each. This means 10,000 JetBlue points are equal to about $150 in flight value.
Here's our breakdown on JetBlue points value:
Redemption option | JetBlue Points value (in cents) |
---|---|
JetBlue Flights | 1.5 |
Hawaiian Airlines Flights | 1 |
JetBlue Vacations | 0.8 |
Cash + Points | 0.9 |
Points Payback | 0.75 |
How To Calculate The Value of JetBlue Points
Like most airline miles, the value of JetBlue points are not set in stone. You will not know the true value of your points until you start the booking process and can compare the cash cost of the flight versus the award cost.
JetBlue points value can be calculated by dividing the cost of your flight by the amount of points required to book it.
JetBlue Points Value = Cost of Flight or Redemption ÷ Miles Required.

Redeeming JetBlue Points For The Best Value
You will get the best value out of your JetBlue points when redeeming them for awards flights on JetBlue. All remaining redemption options will give you significantly less value.
JetBlue Flights
With JetBlue award redemptions, the cost in cash and the cost in points are closely tied together. This makes it very easy to get about the same value of your points no matter the redemption.
So your points will pretty much always fall between 1.4 and 1.6 cents in value per point with only a few outliers.
Hawaiian Airlines
JetBlue points can be redeemed towards flights on Hawaiian Airlines operated flights. This will give your points about 1 cent in value which is pretty low, but does provide an easy way for you to get to Hawaii with your points.
Flights between the Islands of Hawaii start at 6,000 points one-way which can be a nice sweet spot if you need to jump between them. You can also use Hawaiian Airlines to get to international destinations from Hawaii starting at 30,000 points one-way.
Cash + Points
Cash + Points allows you to use a mix of points and cash to book flights with JetBlue. While this provides lots of flexibility and can be useful if you don't have enough points to cover the full award cost, you'll only be getting an average of around 0.9 cents per point going this route.
This is significantly less than booking your flights using all points. Personally, I'd recommend paying cash and either saving up your points, topping off your account by purchasing points, or transferring points to your JetBlue account using partners.
JetBlue Vacations
JetBlue points can be redeemed to book Flights + Hotel travel packages through JetBlue Vacations. We tested multiple packages and found JetBlue Vacations to offer a value of around 0.8 cents per point which is very low.
While booking packages are convenient, you can get almost double the value (with little-to-no effort) using your JetBlue points to book flights.
If you want the ability to book both hotels and fly JetBlue, you'll want to consider picking up a credit card from one of JetBlue's many flexible rewards transfer partners. These partners not only allow you to transfer points directly to JetBlue when you need them, but you can also transfer points to hotel programs for high value including Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham, and more!
Points Payback
If you have the JetBlue Plus Card, you'll be able to use the Points Payback program. This allows you to redeem your points for a statement credit towards eligible charges. Redemptions start at 3,333 points per $25 statement credit which gives this option the lowest redemption value of around 0.75 cents per point.

Finding The Best Card For JetBlue Points
The best travel rewards program for earning JetBlue points will be Citi ThankYou Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and American Express Membership Rewards. If you frequently purchase JetBlue airfare or you're looking for exclusive perks when flying JetBlue, JetBlue's own co-branded credit cards are solid options as well.
Citi ThankYou Rewards
Citi ThankYou Rewards points can be converted into JetBlue points at a 1,000 Citi points for 1,000 JetBlue points if you have the Citi Premier Card. All other Citi credit cards have a lower conversion rate of 1,000 Citi points for 800 JetBlue points.
The Citi Premier Card is hands down the best credit card for JetBlue travelers as you'll be able to earn 3X across a number of everyday categories. On top of that, you can pair the Citi Premier with any of Citi's other ThankYou Rewards credit cards to maximize your rewards due to being able to move points between accounts.
Here are the credit cards that earn ThankYou Rewards points:

Chase Ultimate Rewards
Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be converted into JetBlue points at a 1:1 rate. This means every 1,000 Chase points you convert will give you 1,000 JetBlue points.
Chase offers some of the best travel credit cards available when it comes to flexibility as you're able to redeem your points for 1.25 to 1.5 cents per point through Chase's own travel portal. This is a great alternative to getting high value out of your rewards in the case that you can't find good award availability transferring to JetBlue.
Here are the Chase credit cards that allow you to transfer points to JetBlue:
American Express Membership Rewards
American Express Membership Rewards points can be converted to JetBlue points at a 5:4 rate. Every 1,000 AMEX points you transfer will give you 800 JetBlue points.
This is a lower ratio than what you can get with Chase and Citi, but the trade off is that AMEX credit cards offer high earning rates on average, especially for everyday categories like supermarket and restaurant purchases. So you don't want to not consider AMEX just because of the worse earning rate.
