Best Credit Cards For KrisFlyer Miles

Singapore Airlines

Get a list of the best credit cards for earning KrisFlyer Miles with Singapore Airlines based on your monthly spend across different categories.

Singapore Airlines does not have a co-branded credit card for U.S.-based citizens to earn KrisFlyer Miles. Luckily, all of the major bank rewards programs as well as several hotel rewards programs allow you to transfer rewards directly to your KrisFlyer account. This makes it easy to earn KrisFlyer miles and it gives you a wide variety of cards to choose from.

The best credit cards for earning KrisFlyer Miles consists of the credit cards that are part of American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou Rewards. If you're focusing specifically on earning KrisFlyer Miles, mixing and matching the best credit cards between these programs will be the way to go. If you're transferring all points to KrisFlyer, there's not reason to keep all of your points within one program.

American Express Membership Rewards

American Express is at the top of the list when it comes to earning rewards on everyday categories that are transferable to Singapore KrisFlyer Miles.

The AMEX Everyday Preferred can earn you as high as 4.5x on U.S. supermarket spend and up to 3x on U.S. gas station spend.

The AMEX Gold earns a whopping 4x on both U.S. supermarket spend and worldwide dining spend along with 3x on airfare. It also comes with $120 in annual dining credits and $100 in annual airline incidental credits which you can apply towards a selected airline. Singapore is not a selectable airline, but you can put it towards United Airlines which is part of the same airline alliance.

If you want to earn on airfare spend, the premium AMEX Platinum Card will rake in 5x on general airline spend. You'll also receive a bunch of other elite travel benefits and perks such as $500 in annual credits, extensive lounge access, a Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit, and much more.

The AMEX Green card is a great choice if you want to earn on general travel spend and the AMEX Business Gold Card is also great as you can earn as high as 4x across two categories you spend the most in.

For non-category spend, the AMEX Blue Business Plus earns 2x on the first $50,000 in purchases made during the calendar year which is great. If you don't want to grab up a business card, you can always put non-category spend on the AMEX Everyday Preferred and earn up to 1.5x.

Chase Ultimate Rewards

While Chase will not bring you in as many KrisFlyer Miles as AMEX and Citi, you'll still be able to earn as high as 3x across several categories as well as 10x/5x on Lyft rideshare spend.

The Chase Ink Business Preferred earns a great 3x across travel as well as several other categories such as internet, cable, shipping, and more. You'll also earn 5x on spend with Lyft.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve earns 3x on travel and dining purchases along with 10x on Lyft spend. The Reserve is a premium card so it comes loaded with elite travel benefits and it also provides great car rental insurance and travel/purchase protections.

If you own the Chase Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Sapphire Preferred, you'll be able to convert cash back earned with Chase into Ultimate Rewards Points. This gives you the ability to earn a great amount of KrisFlyer Miles with the Chase Ink Business Cash Card including 5x on office supply stores, cable, internet, phone, and Lyft spend.

Citi ThankYou Rewards

Citi doesn't have bunch of cards to choose from, but that doesn't mean they aren't great for earning KrisFlyer Miles. If you're really looking to earn KrisFlyer Miles, the Citi Prestige is one of the top options. You'll earn an excellent 5x on airline and restaurant spend along with 3x on hotel and cruise line spend.

Another top option from Citi is the Citi ThankYou Premier Card which earns 3x on travel (includes gas) and 2x on both dining and entertainment spend. If you have the spend to support it, both cards can compliment each other quite well if you're a frequent traveler.

To pick up the non-category slack, the Citi Double Cash is a must. If you own the ThankYou Premier or Citi Prestige Card, you'll be able to convert the cash back earned with the Citi Double Cash into ThankYou Points at a 1 cent for 1 KrisFlyer mile ratio. That means the Citi Double Cash will earn you the equivalent of 2 KrisFlyer Miles on all purchases.
