Fees
Annual Fee
The HSBC Advance Mastercard has a $0 annual fee for Advance and Premier clients which means while you're always earn a positive return on your card spend.
If you're no longer an Advance or Premier client, the card will cost $45 annually. In my opinion, the card will not be worth it at that point as there's plenty of no-annual fee cards that earn similar or better rates than the HSBC Advance Mastercard.
Authorized User Fee
The HSBC Advance Mastercard does not have an authorized user fee. I recommend adding family and friends if they spend across any of the categories featured on the card.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The HSBC Advance Mastercard does not have a foreign transaction fee. This means you can earn HSBC Points internationally without worrying about being penalized.
Rewards Calculator
You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.
Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
