The American Express Everyday® Preferred Credit Card is one of the best credit cards for building Membership Rewards Points. It earns 3X on U.S. supermarket purchases, 2X on U.S. gas station purchases, and 1X on all other purchases, but you can bump up the earnings across all spend thanks to the 50% point bonus after making 30 transactions in a billing statement. Overall, it's a great card to have and a great alternative to the American Express® Gold Card which is another top card for U.S. supermarket purchases.

Is the AMEX Everyday Preferred worth it?
The AMEX Everyday Preferred is a great card for building Membership Rewards Points if you frequently spend in the categories of U.S. supermarket and U.S. gas station. The card is easily worth it if you value Membership Rewards Points at a higher rate than 1 cent each.
Should I get the AMEX Everyday Preferred or AMEX Everyday Card?
This will depend on how much you spend across the cards. If you value Membership Rewards Points, the AMEX Everyday Preferred will be the better option if you spend a decent amount across U.S. supermarket and U.S. gas station purchases.
Which card is better, the AMEX Everyday Preferred or Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express?
You will have to value Membership Rewards Points at a higher value than about 1.3 to make the Everyday Preferred better than the Blue Cash Preferred, but it really comes down to how much you spend. You can use the calculator on this page to compare both based on spend and point value.
