Rewards Rate Details

The American Express Gold Card features three bonus categories. Those categories are restaurants (worldwide), U.S. supermarkets, and airfare purchased directly with an airline or through American Express Travel. The U.S. supermarket category earns bonus points on up to $25,000 in purchases per year in which you'll earn at the non-category rate of 1x for the remainder of the year once that cap is hit. The earning rates for restaurant and airfare purchases are unlimited. There is no limit to the amount of Membership Rewards Points you can earn with the American Express Gold Card overall.
