Citi ThankYou Points can be transferred to over 15 partners, each at a 1:1 ratio meaning that 1,000 points can be converted to 1,000 points or miles with Citi's partners.
List of Citi transfer partners
The Citi Premier Card and the (now unavailable) Citi Prestige Card grants the ability to transfer ThankYou Points to Citi's full list of partners at a 1:1 ratio.
If you do not own the Citi Premier or Citi Prestige, you will only be able to transfer your points to a few select partners:
- Choice Privileges (1,000 points to 1,500 Choice Points)
- JetBlue TrueBlue (1,000 points to 800 TrueBlue Points)
- Wyndham Rewards (1,000 points to 800 Wyndham Points)
As you can see, the transfer ratio for those are lower than 1:1 meaning that you'll be losing a little bit of value on your transfers.
If the main bulk of your ThankYou Point redemptions will be transferring points to partners, I recommend picking up the Citi Premier Card.

How to earn Citi points
Citi Points are earned through welcome bonuses and everyday spending across Citi's line-up of ThankYou Rewards credit cards. Citi offers a handful of these cards, but listed below are the three that you'll want to consider sweeping up.
If you're earning ThankYou Points to redeem them for travel, you'll want to grab up the Citi Premier Card as it is the only card that grants the ability to transfer points to all of Citi's airline and hotel partners.
It earns 3X points on 3X points on airfare, hotel, gas station, supermarket, and restaurant purchases, and 1X on everything else. The card also features an annual $100 hotel credit when you book a $500+ stay through thankyou.com.
Since the Citi Premier is a travel card, points earned with the card will be worth 1 cent each when redeemed towards travel through the ThankYou Rewards portal. Cash back redemptions will only give you 0.5 cents per point, so be sure to steer clear of those with this card.
Best For Everyday & Travel Spending

Citi® Double Cash Card
The Citi Double Cash is a 2% back card that earns 1% back on purchases and another 1% back when you pay off those purchases.
The card earns ThankYou Points redeemable for 1 cent apiece towards cash back redemptions. Unlike the Citi Premier Card, points cannot be transferred from this card to all of Citi's partners.
If you're mainly going to be redeeming rewards for cash back, this is the only card you'll need, but if you plan on redeeming rewards for travel, I highly recommend pairing the Citi Double Cash with the Citi Premier Card to create the ultimate 2-card combo.
Best For 2% Back On All Purchases
The Citi Custom Cash℠ Card is ThankYou Point-earning card that earns points redeemable for cash back redemptions at a value of 1 cent apiece.
The card earns an automatic 5% back in the one select category you spend the most in each billing cycle and 1% back thereafter.
With the card earning only 1% back on all other purchases, you can pair this card with the Citi Double Cash to make sure you never get less than a 2% return on your spend. You can also pair this card with the Citi Premier Card to bump up the value of your points when transferred to partners.
