Bonus Categories

The JCPenney Credit Card features one bonus category and that's for purchases made with JCPenney either in-store or online. While there is no limit to the amount of points you can earn with the card overall, there is a 2,000-point earning cap on a single transaction. So if you plan on making a $2,000 or more transaction, I recommend breaking it up if you want to earn all of your JCPenney Rewards Points.

  • 1x JCPenney
    • Applies to in-store and online purchases with JCPenney.
    • Purchases made at retailers within JCPenney stores are also eligible (such as Sephora's located in-store).

The JCPenney Credit Card does not have a network attached to it (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), so you will not be able to use this card outside of spending in-store or online with JCPenney.

Perks & Benefits

The JCPenney Credit Card features the standard benefits you'll find on most retail store cards which includes special financing options, exclusive coupons, and more.

  • Special Financing Offers
    • Receive between 6 to 30 months on large JCPenney purchases.
  • JCPenney Rewards Full Access
    • You'll be able to obtain JCPenney Gold and JCPenney Platinum status as a cardholder.

Sign Up Bonus

The standard sign up bonus for the JCPenney Credit Card is either 15% off select apparel, shoes, accessories, fine jewelry, home and salon -OR- 5% off select major appliances and modern bride diamond vault items. Regardless of which offer you choose, I recommend having a big purchase on hand to squeeze the best value out of this bonus.

Annual Fee

There is no annual fee for the JCPenney Credit Card. This means you will always earn a 5% return on purchases made with JCPenney as long as you paid off your card in full.

Authorized User Fee

There is no fee associated with adding additional users to the JCPenney Credit Card. If you have family or friends that enjoy spending money in-store or online with JCPenney, I recommend adding them so that you can build your rewards points faster.

Foreign Transaction Fee

There is no network assigned to the JCPenney Credit Card so international purchases will not be possible.

Rewards Calculator

You can use the rewards calculator to calculate how many points, miles, or cash back you can earn based on your spend per category. This calculator will also give you the dollar value of the card based on the value of the rewards earned and how much each benefit is worth to you, minus the annual fees. You can click the Compare A Card button to compare this card side by side any other card featured on the site within the same calculator.

Note! All category spend entered in the primary card's column (first column when comparing cards) will carry over to all credit card calculators on the site. This means you will not have to re-enter the same information again and again when browsing during the session.
