Korean Air has a redemption table that you can use to find out how many SKYPASS Miles it will cost you to fly from one region to another across Economy, Business, and First class.

When testing flight itineraries, the average value per SKYPASS Mile came out to around 1.5 cents each though it was not hard to find redemptions that offered more than 2 cents in value (especially for First/Business Class).

While it's not hard to get great value out of SKYPASS Miles, I've listed a few redemptions below that can give you some great value if you're looking for a few ideas on how to use your miles.

Fly From The U.S. to South Korea in First Class

The best option for redeeming SKYPASS Miles is to use them to Korean Air's hub, Incheon International Airport (ICN). You can fly one-way First Class on Korean Air starting at 80,000 SKYPASS Miles. One-way tickets for Economy are 35,000 miles and one-way tickets on Prestige Class will cost you 62,500 miles.

You can fly to ICN from the following North America airports:

• Las Vegas (LAS)
• Los Angeles (LAX)

• San Francisco (SFO)

• Toronto (YYZ) - Canada
• Vancouver (YVR) - Canada

Do note that not all routes offer First Class. You can check for the First Class indicator when searching award flights on Korean Air's website. Be sure to check mark the 'Flexible Dates' option so that you can easily find the award flights you're looking for.

The value you'll get out of your SKYPASS Miles for these booking will be astronomical as the cash cost for First Class can cost upwards of $10k.

Fly First Class on Korean Air from the U.S. and Canada for 80,000 miles one-way or 160,000 miles round-trip.

Fly From The U.S. to Australia

You can use Korean Air SKYPASS Miles to book an award flight on Korean Air from the U.S. to Australia. Flights will cost you 55,000 miles one-way for Economy ticket, 97,500 for Business class, and 120,000 miles for First.

Fly From The U.S. To Abu Dhabi

If you want to fly in the opposite direction, you can use Korean Air SKYPASS Miles to fly from the U.S. to Abu Dhabi. Round-trip tickets start at 70,000 miles for Economy, 140,000 miles for Business, and 210,000 for First.

SkyTeam Round the World Award

You can redeem your SKYPASS Miles for a trip around the world on SkyTeam airlines. Trips must be in one continuous direction, either eastbound or westbound, including both transpacific and transatlantic routes, and for which the departure and destination cities are in the same country.

SkyTeam Round the World redemptions will cost you:

• Economy: 140,000 Miles
• Business Class: 220,000 Miles
• Economy + Business Class: 220,000 Miles

An example itinerary for one these trips would be:

6. Busan

There are several other restrictions you'll want to check out including maximum stopover counts and transfer counts. You can book these awards at Korean Air Service centers and branch offices.

Upgrade Award

Korean SKYPASS Miles can be redeemed towards upgrades on Korean Air flights. Eligible tickets must be in Korean Domestic: Y, M or International: J, C, Y, B, M. You can not upgrade tickets that had a discount of 50% or more.

Upgrade prices from off-peak Economy to Prestige start at 3,000 for domestic Korean Air travel to 145,000 for long distance travel between Southwest Asia and South America.

Korean SKYPASS Miles can also be used for upgrade awards on select SkyTeam partners. Those partners are:

Cash + Miles

Cash + Miles bookings allows you to pay for part of your fare with SKYPASS Miles. You can use SKYPASS Miles starting from 500 miles, up to 20% of the base fare (excludes tax and fuel surcharges).

This is only applicable when purchasing one-way or round-trip tickets for Korean Air flights in Korean won (KRW).

KAL Lounge Access

SKYPASS Miles can be used to purchase KAL Lounge passes. International KAL Lounges cost 4,000 SKYPASS Miles and domestic KAL Lounges cost 2,000 SKYPASS Miles.

The lounge award can be used for up to four people, and 1 voucher must be used per person. Lounge access is available on the day of travel and is subject to lounge availability.

Excess Baggage

SKYPASS Miles can be redeemed for Excess Baggage awards on Korean Air flights. The cost varies by region, the weight of the baggage, and the size.

Excess baggage for one-way Korea domestic flights will cost 200 SKYPASS Miles while other regions start at 5,000 SKYPASS Miles.
