Enterprise Rent-A-Car is a U.S.-based car rental company headquartered in Missouri and is the largest rental car company in the United States. They have over 9,000 city locations and more than 400 airport locations which includes Canada, the UK, Spain, Germany, and Ireland. Enterprise is a subsidiary of Enterprise Holdings, Inc., which also owns National Car Rental and Alamo Rent a Car.
The Enterprise Plus Program is the loyalty program of Enterprise Rent A Car. Joining the program allows you to build points and earn status with Enterprise which gives you the ability to book free rentals and receive complimentary upgrades. If you plan on renting cars with Enterprise, I highly suggest that you sign up for the Enterprise Plus program. It's free to sign up for and easy to do.
Earning Enterprise Points
Enterprise Points are earned booking rentals directly with Enterprise via enterprise.com, the Enterprise mobile app, or with Enterprise phone reservations. Qualifying rentals with Enterprise consist of booking rentals at Enterprise locations in the fifty United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean or Asia Pacific.
When booking your Enterprise rentals, you'll earn points per $1 spent on the base cost of the rental. This will be the per-day price you'll see when booking your reservation. You will not earn Enterprise Points on taxes and fees.

The amount of points you earn per $1 spent will be based on your Enterprise Membership Level in the Enterprise Plus program. Your Enterprise Membership Level is based on the number of rentals or rental days with Enterprise in a calendar year. This will earn you anywhere between 10% and 20% bonus points.
Earn Enterprise Points With National
As an Enterprise Plus Member, you can also earn points renting cars with National Car Rental. In order to earn Enterprise Points with National, you'll need to have a National Car Rental Emerald Club account and change your preferred partner rewards program to Enterprise Plus.
How To Earn Enterprise Points With National
- Go to nationalcar.com and sign in.
- Click on your initials/name at the top of the page and go to Rewards.
- Click Modify under Rewards Preferences.
- Select Partner Rewards and select Enterprise Plus as your Partner Rewards Program and enter your Enterprise member number.
- Click Update.

When booking with National, you'll earn 1 Enterprise Point per $1 spent on all National Car Rentals in the 50 United States and Canada.
Enterprise Points Value & Redemption Options
Enterprise Points are worth 5 cents each when redeemed for free rentals at Enterprise locations. Since you earn Enterprise Points per $1 spent on Enterprise rentals, you'll be looking at about a 5% to 6% return depending on membership level in the Enterprise Plus program. Enterprise Points can only be applied to free rentals. They cannot be redeemed for anything else.
Enterprise Points Value Calculator
Use the Enterprise Cash Value Calculator to calculate the average cash value of Enterprise Plus Points. The calculator will also output the number of free days you can get based on the lowest rate of 400 points per day. If you want to get the exact value of your points, you can use the Points and Miles Cash Value Calculator to enter the cost in cash and points to get the true value.
Car Rentals | $0 |
Free Days (Lowest) | 0 Free Rental Days |
Enterprise Free Rental Days
Enterprise car rentals start at 400 points per day for rentals that cost less than $20 per day giving you an excellent value of 5 cents per point. When you start a vehicle reservation and your search produces low prices, that's when you should consider redeeming your Enterprise Points if you're looking for maximum rental days.

Enterprise rentals are typically cheaper on the weekend. Rentals during the week can produce different results which can easily up the cost. Since the cost in cash and the cost in points are tied together, this will bump up the overall amount of points required for a free rental redemption.

Regardless of whether or not you use your points for low cost rentals or high cost rentals, you will still get an average of around 5 cents per point. So it will be your preference on when you want to redeem them. You can usually save on weekday rentals by booking early and by avoiding airport locations.
Taxes and Fees
Do note that redeeming your Enterprise Points will cover the base cost of the vehicle. You will still be required to pay the taxes and fees of the rental.

The taxes and fees on a vehicle will vary depending on the location and how long you're renting the vehicle.
Enterprise Membership Levels
Enterprise has 4 membership levels in their Enterprise Plus program which are member, silver, gold, and platinum.
How To Qualify
Each level of Enterprise Plus Membership requires you to meet a certain amount of car rentals or car rental days during the calendar year with Enterprise.
Enterprise Car Rentals
You will receive credit for a car rental upon drop off your rental. If you were to pick up your rental on Monday and drop it off on Thursday, you would receive credit for one rental.
Enterprise Rental Days
Rental days are the number of day-to-night cycles that the vehicle is in your possession. If you were to pick up your rental on Monday at 2pm and drop it off on Thursday at 2pm, you would earn credit for 3 days. This is because you had it Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and returned it on Thursday. There are times in which this example could count as 4 days depending on pick-up and drop-off times.

Enterprise offers a lot more than just car rental services. Their market also includes car share, car sales, and business solutions.

Vehicles purchased through the program also comes with a 12-month / 12,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and 7-day buyback for more peace of mind. Vehicles are also typically priced cheaper than market prices which keeps a little bit more money in your pocket.
Enterprise For Business
Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental are teamed up to provide Enterprise For Business which is an excellent program for businesses that need reliable rentals at great prices. They provide benefits such as contracted car rental rates, long term car rentals, travel management tools, delivery service, and even VIP rentals. Plus Enterprise and National provides a large footprint of more than 9,000 locations in more than 90 countries. You'll also have access to Enterprises other services such as:

Transferring Enterprise Points
Enterprise Points can be transferred to other Enterprise Plus members in 100-point increments. You can transfer between 100 and 20,000 Enterprise Points per transaction.

In order to transfer points to another Enterprise member, you will need their Enterprise Plus member number, last name, and email address.
Do note that transferring points does not count as activity for the person transferring the points nor does it count as activity for the person receiving the points. Enterprise Points transferred will assume the expiration date associated with the recipients Enterprise Plus account. So make sure that the person receiving the Enterprise Points is an active member as you wouldn't want to transfer points just for them to shortly expire.
How To Transfer Enterprise Points
- Go to Enterprise.com and log in.
- Click on your name and select My Rewards & Benefits.
- Click on the options for Transfer My Points located on the left side of the page.
- Fill out the form accordingly.

Enterprise Points cannot be transferred to other rewards programs. They can only be redeemed directly with Enterprise.
Enterprise Points Expiration
In order to prevent your Enterprise Points from expiring, you will need to have activity on your account at least once every 36 months. This means you'll want to earn at least 1 point by booking a rental through Enterprise. Do note that transfers to your account from another Enterprise Plus member does not count as activity. If you haven't use Enterprise in almost 3 years and your points risk expiring, your best option is to transfer your points to someone you know that has an active Enterprise account.
Enterprise Partners
When you book your rental directly with Enterprise, you will typically earn Enterprise Plus Points. If you don't wish to earn points with Enterprise, you can book your rental through other means to earn airline miles, hotel points, or other rewards while still picking up your rental from Enterprise. You will not need an Enterprise Plus account to earn rewards with other partners.
Enterprise Airline Partners
Enterprise car rentals can be booked through several different airline frequent flyer programs which will result in you earning miles. The amount of miles you earn will vary by program, but you will either earn a set amount of miles per rental or a certain amount of miles per $1 spent.
Enterprise partners with the following airline frequent flyer:
- Delta Airlines - Delta SkyMiles
- Air France-KLM - Flying Blue
- Virgin Atlantic - Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Enterprise Hotel Partners
Want to rest your head knowing you're earning some extra hotel loyalty points? Enterprise has a few hotel partners that can earn you some extra points so you can get to that free award night sooner.
Enterprise partners with the following hotel rewards programs:
- Best Western - Best Western Rewards
- Hilton Hotels - Hilton Honors
- Radisson Hotels - Radisson Rewards
Other Enterprise Partners
You can also book through several other portals to earn rewards with other programs. These programs are:
- Amtrak - Amtrak Guest Rewards
- Expedia - Expedia Rewards
Enterprise Rental Car Insurance
When renting with Enterprise, you'll be given the option to go with their Collision Damage Waiver insurance which protects you if the vehicle is damaged, regardless of fault. While this is a great to have, the rate of this insurance can be anywhere from $20 to $30 or more per-day which can add significantly to the overall cost of your vehicle.

You can avoid this costly per-day insurance fee by paying for your rental using a credit card that offer Primary Rental Insurance. Depending on how often you rent cars from Enterprise and other rental agencies, this benefit alone can save you hundreds of dollars per year.
Earn Cash Back On Enterprise Rentals
You can earn Enterprise Points and cash back when you book your Enterprise rental through a cash back portal. Using online portals is one of the best ways to double and triple dip on rewards and I recommend using a portal for all online shopping including booking travel.

Cash back portals are pretty easy to operate and they all pretty much work the same.
- Start at the cash back portal's website
- Find Enterprise and click Shop to start a new session
- You'll be taken to enterprise.com to book your car rental as normal
- Once you've booked and completed your Enterprise rental, the cash back site will be notified
- Cash back will be credited to your account
There's a good handful of cash back portals and Enterprise is featured on most of them. The amount of cash back you earn booking through a cash back portal will vary. Amounts change from time to time and cash back portals also have promotions as well.

Some people pick a favorite whereas others go to the cash back portal that is offering the most cash back at the time of booking. While the concept of earning cash back with each portal is the same, they slightly differ in the options you can use to get paid. Common payment options include direct deposit, a check, or gift card. You can even earn Membership Rewards Points with Rakuten Rewards instead of earning cash back.

Since going through a cash back portal drops you off on the enterprise.com home page to book your rental, this is not considered to be a third-party rental. You'll earn your Enterprise Points, get credit towards Enterprise Membership status, and be able to handle programs directly with Enterprise as normal. The transaction itself will also still be Enterprise so if you use a travel rewards credit card that earns bonus points on travel or car rental purchases, you'll get bonus points from that too!
If you don't have an account with any of the leading cash back portals, you can help out the site and earn bonus cash back on your first purchases by signing up using the links below.
