Holland America Line rewards points are earned by running spend through the Barclays Holland America Visa. Points can be applied towards statement credits, onboard amenities, gift cards/certificates, merchandise and travel redemptions. Holland America Line points can be worth up to 2.5 cents per point and as low as 0.75 cents (and possibly lower for some merchandise).
Holland America Statement Credits
Holland American Points can be redeemed for statement credits towards Holland American Cruises as well as the other 9 cruise lines that fall under the World's Leading Cruise Lines umbrella. Redeeming your points for statement credits on purchases made with Holland America will give you a value of 1 cent to 2.5 cents per point whereas statement credits towards purchases on the other cruise lines will always give you 1 cent in value.
Holland America
The best value comes from redeeming your Holland America Line points for statement credits towards cruises with Holland America. The more expensive the cruise the better the value.
- $50 to $499.99 will have a redemption value of 1%
- $500 to $1,499.99 will have a redemption value of 1.25%
- $1,500 to $2,000.99 will have a redemption value of 1.50%
- $2,001 to $4,000.99 will have a redemption value of 2.00%
- $4,001 and up will have a redemption value of 2.50%
For example, let's say you charged a $750 Holland America Cruise to your Holland America Visa. Since that cruise falls between $500 and $1,499.99, the points you use as a statement credit towards that booking will be worth 1.25 cents each. So if you had 20,000 Holland America Points to apply as a statement credit, it would be worth $250.
If you went all out and charged a $4,001+ Holland America Cruise to your Holland America Visa, points redeemed towards that charge would be worth a whopping 2.5 cents each. So if you wanted to apply the same 20,000 points as a statement credit, it would now be worth $500.

Holland America Points can be redeemed as a statement credit for the remaining 8 World's Leading Cruise Lines for a value of 1 cent per point. Those cruise lines are:

Gift Cards & Certificates
Holland America Points can be redeemed for gift cards as well as certificates. These start at 3,300 Holland America Points for a $25 gift card/certificate which is a value of 0.75 cents per point. This is relatively low when compared to the higher value you can get out of redeeming your points towards cruises.
If you're looking to earn gift cards, you would be better off using a cash back credit card since you'll be earning a minimum of a 1:1 ratio.
Other Redemptions
